The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ahezhuole tries to clinch but Nurhusein moves out of range. Ahezhuole with a lazy takedown attempt and Nurhusein counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nurhusein slaps away a takedown attempt from Ahezhuole, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ahezhuole tries a head kick but it misses.
Nurhusein doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Ahezhuole looks to clinch and Nurhusein counters with a right hand to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ahezhuole. Rondo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Rondo slips a jab from Floyd. Floyd scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. A big left from Floyd misses. Floyd sets himself, and Rondo steps forward looking for the clinch! Floyd avoids it this time. Floyd cracks Rondo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Floyd throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Good standup being displayed there by Floyd as he connects with a hook. Floyd throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Floyd has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LA Vale Tudo in the buildup to the fight. Rondo avoids a lazy jab quite easily. The crowd cheers as Floyd lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rondo doesn't seem phased though. Rondo wants to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Floyd tests Rondo's chin there with a solid looking shot.
