The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hasashi was covering up waiting for the punch and Harris finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Harris is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Harris looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hasashi gets caught napping as Harris dives in and scores a takedown. Hasashi manages to retain guard.

Hasashi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Harris wants to control but Hasashi is keeping busy.

Hasashi wants to work for an arm triangle but Harris is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hasashi uses his free foot to push down on Harris's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Harris.
Harris wants to control but Hasashi is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Romeo Harris will probably get the nod.

and Harris counters with a left and a right that stings Hasashi.

Harris closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hasashi did well to prevent Harris getting side control.

Harris is working for a submission of some sort.
Hasashi slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hasashi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris won't allow Hasashi to get back to his feet.

Hasashi pushes a forearm under Harris's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Harris is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Vigo scores with a body shot.
Bonez tries to clinch there but Vigo circles away.
Vigo swings for the body but Bonez moves out of range.
Don Vigo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vigo digs a good hook to Bonez's body.
Vigo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vigo cracks Bonez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Bonez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vigo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bonez scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Vigo to see if he's OK.
We've been hearing good reports from Bonez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bagwis.
Bagwis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Phoenix.
Bagwis tries to clinch up but Phoenix circles away and keeps his distance.

Phoenix is looking to take this one to the mat.
A bit of stalling here from Bagwis.

A nice inside leg kick there by Bagwis. That's going to slow Phoenix down.

Bagwis drops Phoenix with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Phoenix looks back up at him and smiles so Bagwis waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Phoenix is rocked!
Bagwis lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Phoenix up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Bagwis from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Phoenix's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Runtiringeni is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Runtiringeni has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Runtiringeni is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Colton has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Colton!
