Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cage has chosen Green Day - Basketcase as his entrance music. Leo Cage told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leo Cage! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cage tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nice defenses there by Cage. Hammer cracks Cage with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Excellent takedown into side control there by Cage. Cage is trying to move to mount but Hammer reverses beautifully and ends up in Cage's guard. Cage had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hammer defends it easily. Cage working a defensive guard but Hammer manages to pass into side control anyway.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Hammer misses with the ground and pound. Hammer working the body and head with strikes. Hammer in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cage regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hammer's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Cage tries to get to full guard but Hammer has control of the leg. Hammer scoring with strikes to the body and head. Hammer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hammer trying to mount his opponent but Cage defends it. Cage moves into full guard.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Cage wants to get back to his feet. Hammer moves into full mount! Cage won't be happy about that! Cage is looking to improve his position but Hammer isn't that keen on the idea. Hammer fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Lecter VIII kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Getting Away With Murder. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Law manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Marshall Law has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tryus Jackson. Jackson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Van Der Solje keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Douglas. Douglas tests Van Der Solje's chin there with a solid looking shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Douglas is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Van Der Solje flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Van Der Solje is out cold! Douglas holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
