3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jax Shaw! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw darts in trying to clinch and Lee counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Shaw! Lee working the ground and pound. Shaw wants to control but Lee postures up. A lull in the action here. Lee looks up at the clock and then as Shaw takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lee smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Shaw is trying to control Lee's posture but Lee avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw is not content to let Lee control the position. Lee lands some shots froms side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee wants to control but Shaw is keeping him busy. Lee cracks Shaw with an elbow. That is naaassty. Lee cracks Shaw with a big right hand but Shaw just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee lands an elbow. Lee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lee advances nicely into full mount. BOOM! Lee connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Lee trying to control but he's not successful this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shaw can do anything to dispel that myth. Lee dominating with strikes here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Shaw defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lee. Shaw in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Lee has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Shaw's face.
Lee is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Shaw is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Shaw flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Lee anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Shaw and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Lee slips an arm under Shaw chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Lee has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Lee is squeezing on Shaw like an anaconda would it's prey. Shaw fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). John Lee! John Lee decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harfagri drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Harfagri gets to his feet - Farias follows without any prompting. Farias instigates a clinch. Farias scores with a knee to the head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Harfagri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Farias leaves Harfagri with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Donk. Farias catches Harfagri right on the button with a cross. Farias lands with a kick to the temple. Harfagri shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Farias will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Farias connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Harfagri's hands. Charles Farias is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Farias manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Oh Harfagri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haraldur Harfagri. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Farias scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Wood counters with a lovely straight right hand! Al Haddad with a lazy takedown attempt and Wood connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Danny Wood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohammed Al Haddad. A jab lands there for Wood. Wood paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Wood connects with a superb combination that knocks Al Haddad out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Wood before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Al Haddad!
