With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Boris Matusov!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Matusov.
Matusov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Finnegan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Finnegan fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Matusov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Finnegan is trying is best to control the position here.
Finnegan looks like he's trying to stand up.

Matusov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Finnegan is staying active underneath Matusov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matusov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Finnegan is pressing down on Matusov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Matusov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Matusov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Matusov tries to free his leg and advance position but Finnegan is retaining full guard.

Finnegan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Matusov is fighting to break Finnegan's control of his arms but Finnegan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matusov wants to control from the top but Finnegan keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Finnegan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Matusov slips a jab and a cross from Finnegan.
Matusov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Finnegan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Boris Matusov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matusov goes for a double leg but Finnegan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Finnegan continues to drive forward.
Finnegan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Matusov fails with the takedown.
Matusov has a takedown stuffed.
Finnegan scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Finnegan tries to bum rush Matusov with a series of wild strikes but Matusov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Matusov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Finnegan to score with a decent uppercut.
Matusov misses with a takedown attempt
and Finnegan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Finnegan appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Finnegan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Matusov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Finnegan swivels and escapes.
Finnegan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Matusov.
Matusov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Matusov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Finnegan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Matusov somewhat.
Matusov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Finnegan is looking for a counter combo.
Finnegan looks to score with a jab to the body but Matusov is just out of range.
Finnegan leaves Matusov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Matusov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Finnegan's waist but Finnegan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Matusov off to one side.
Finnegan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matusov is defended easily by Finnegan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Finnegan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matusov was well out of range. Poor timing from Finnegan.

enabling Finnegan to counter with a crisp jab.
Matusov shoots for a double leg takedown but Finnegan sprawls well. He's pushed Matusov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Finnegan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Finnegan cracks Matusov with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Finnegan has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Matusov to stand back up!

Matusov is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A combination from Finnegan does no damage.
Matusov is still on wobbly legs! Can Finnegan finish him?
Finnegan knocks out Matusov with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Finnegan before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Finnegan picks up the big W with a huge KO!
