Cannon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Duncan stacks Cannon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Duncan!

Cannon has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Duncan is really squeezing tight and eventually Cannon passes out! Duncan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

No luck for Sanchez with that takedown attempt.
Sanchez tries to clinch but Runner moves out of range.
Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with Runner, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes Runner against the cage but Runner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Runner was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Sanchez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Runner swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sanchez.
Runner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by Runner, which made it look bad.

Danis fails with a takedown attempt.
Maia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Danis! But no joy.
Danis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maia as he jumps to the side.
Maia shoots in but no luck this time.
Danis unleashes a big counter combination but Maia bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Maia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Danis stuffs the takedown attempt from Maia. Maia gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Danis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Maia quickly recovers to half guard.
Danis has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Danis stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Danis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Maia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Danis's guard.

Maia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Danis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Danis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maia is one step ahead there.

Maia wants to pass the guard but Danis is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maia decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Danis shoots in but Maia avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Danis fails with the takedown.
Danis shoots in for a takedown but Maia shows good takedown defense.

Danis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Danis shoots for a double leg takedown but Maia sprawls well. He's pushed Danis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Maia shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Danis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Maia tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maia has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Danis is trying to control Maia's posture but Maia avoids it.

Maia is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Danis looks calm but he's in trouble here. Maia gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Danis is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Maia lets go of the hold and Danis can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dan Maia!
Dan Maia very nearly forgot to thank Hot Spunk amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.

Blaze throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Blaze throws a sloppy head kick

and Sap counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Blaze is looking to improve his position.
Sap is taking a breather. Blaze says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sap trying to control the action but Blaze is working from the bottom.

Sap is looking for a kimura but Blaze is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sap to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blaze has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sap is working away from the top position though.
Blaze has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sap works his way into side control.
Blaze really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The ground and pound from Sap seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Sap has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Blaze is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sap yanks on the arm and Blaze is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sap.

Tony Sap tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

Barbarian lands a big right hand that sends Tatum crashing to the mat! Barbarian stays standing though and waves Tatum back to his feet!

and Barbarian rattles Tatum with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Tatum tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Barbarian dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Tatum stiff and motionless on the mat!

and Kong counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Johnson is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kong lands a nice looking body kick.
Kong swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
Kong thinks about countering with a head kick.
Kong feints and then cracks Johnson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Johnson down.

Kong lands a big head kick that sends Johnson tumbling to the mat! Kong takes a step backwards and waves Johnson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick by Kong - that's a beauty! Johnson is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Kong can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Astro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cage throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Astro's waist but Astro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cage off to one side.
Astro was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Astro moves out of range as Cage strikes.
Cage fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Charlie Astro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connar Cage.
Cage moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Astro cracks Cage with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Cage looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Astro finish him?

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Astro lands a brutal uppercut that launches Cage off his feet! Cage tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
