The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montenegro tries to clinch but Misping moves out of range. Montenegro looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Misping fails with an attempt to clinch.
Misping feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Montenegros jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Misping throws a nice inside leg kick. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Tharrier waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Velasquez. Velasquez appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Tharrier loads up on a big right hand but Velasquez slips the punch. Velasquez on the wrong end of a nice jab.
It looks like Stipe Velasquez has been cut. Velasquez pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tharrier is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Velasquez with a body shot. A punch combination from Velasquez misses. Tharrier has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Velasquez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tharrier misses with a right hand and Velasquez counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Velasquez getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Tharrier lands a leg kick that knocks Velasquez off balance momentarily. Velasquez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tharrier gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Velasquez. Velasquez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Velasquez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tharrier. Tharrier misses with a hook. Velasquez ducked under it nicely. Velasquez was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Velasquez walks forward, straight into a front kick from Tharrier. Tharrier lands with a thumping leg kick.
Velasquez throws a lazy right hand but Tharrier sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Danga de danga de dang - Velasquez scores with a four punch combination! The fighters circle momentarily. Velasquez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Tharrier feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Velasquezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tharrier throws a series of punches but Velasquez moves out of range. Tharrier dodges the punch combination from Velasquez.
A slow jab from Tharrier misses its intended target. Tharrier misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Velasquez.
It looked like Velasquez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Tharrier cracks Velasquez with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Velasquez is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Velasquez is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine! Tharrier lands with a thumping leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tharrier throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Velasquez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at 3Band MMA ($800/week) in the buildup to the fight. Tharrier uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Velasquez. Velasquez slips under a jab from Tharrier. Velasquez walks into a left hand. Velasquez lands with a nice body punch. Velasquez throws a jab but it's blocked by Tharrier. A punch combination from Velasquez misses. Tharrier throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Tharrier connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Velasquez's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Velasquez - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tycoon's corner calls for a 1-2. Tycoon obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Bomber jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bomber lands with an overhand left. Bomber throws a hook to the side of Tycoon's head but Tycoon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Tycoon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

As Bomber backs off Tycoon throws a huge counter combo but Bomber manages to avoid it all. Tycoon takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bomber stalks Tycoon and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tycoon's face. Tycoon staggers backwards, shaken. We've been informed that Tycoon has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Tycoon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bomber throws a poor cross that misses
and Tycoon counters with a low kick, right behind Bomber 's knee. Tycoon ducks under a wild hook from Bomber. Tycoon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bomber. Tycoon drops his hands momentarily and Bomber takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bomber lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Tycoon goes down! The ref sends Bomber to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Tycoon is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
Tycoon is rocked! Tycoon walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Tycoon is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
