Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Rodgers ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justice Times ! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Times moves into the clinch. Times turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Times manages to end up in side control. Rodgers is trying to control Times 's posture but Times avoids it. Rodgers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Times wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Times tries to move to mount but Rodgers blocks the move with his legs. Times tries to stand but Rodgers is controlling his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodgers being controlled for a moment. You can see the frustration on Rodgers 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodgers is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Times is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Rodgers taking punishment in the form of punches.
Rodgers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. You can see the frustration on Rodgers 's face as Times controls the position. Times tries for a kimura but Rodgers is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rodgers tries to improve position but can't. Rodgers is trying to control Times 's posture but Times avoids it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Times shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Times showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Times sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Times seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Times trying to control the pace. Rodgers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Times is working away from the top position though. Rodgers pushes Times off looking to stand but Times dives back in and keeps control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A big left from Rodgers misses. Rodgers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Times . Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rodgers fails in his attempt to clinch. Times defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rodgers . Rodgers avoids a punch combination nicely.

Times gets through Rodgers 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
It looks like Travis Rodgers has been cut. Times gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Rodgers is looking for a triangle but Times pushes his legs off easily.
Rodgers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Times is aware though and is defending well. Times postures up and lands a big shot to Rodgers 's brow. Times must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Times is looking to advance position but Rodgers has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Rodgers controlling the pace for now. Rodgers sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Times really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodgers . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Times has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rodgers is trying to control the action in half guard but Times is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Rodgers wants to stand up but Times is controlling the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Well, if Rodgers is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Times closes the distance and clinches. Times pulls Rodgers into guard.
Times is pulling down on Rodgers 's head to control his posture. Times is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Times landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Rodgers is trying to maintain the position but Times is very close to passing his half guard. Times content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Times wants to stand up but Rodgers is controlling the position.

Times is fighting to break Rodgers 's control of his arms but Rodgers is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Rodgers controls Times momentarily but Times frees himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rodgers is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Travis Rodgers showed his dominance in that final round. Well Times has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
