Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Helge Fossmo (ranked 7547 p4p, 203 weight class) and Justice Times (ranked 24399 p4p, 46 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
44 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helge Fossmo! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justice Times ! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Times throws a head kick that misses and Fossmo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fossmo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Times was covering up waiting for the punch and Fossmo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Times wants to stand but Fossmo is controlling the position. Fossmo is looking to work some ground and pound but Times has wrist control. Times wants to get back to his feet but Fossmo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Times is adopting a defensive guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Times is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fossmo lands a couple of digs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fossmo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Times is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fossmo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Times scores with a short punch from the bottom. Fossmo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Times can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fossmo controls the pace. Fossmo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Times is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fossmo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fossmo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Times can do anything to dispel that myth. Fossmo controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Times working for a triangle but Fossmo defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Times throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Fossmo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Fossmo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Fossmo postures up in Times 's guard and throws a big left but Times blocks it. Fossmo pushing down on Times 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Fossmo is working for a kimura but Times is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fossmo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Fossmo lands strikes from half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fossmo lands a nice short elbow. Fossmo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Fossmo passes to full mount! Fossmo goes for an armbar but Times turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Times . Times is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fossmo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Times manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fossmo cracks Times with a solid left hand. Fossmo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Times swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fossmo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Fossmo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fossmo slips nicely into half guard. Fossmo wants to control but Times is keeping him busy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fossmo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fossmo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Times keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Times fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fossmo quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Times gets a takedown into half guard. Fossmo manages to escape and get back to his feet! Fossmo keeps the fight on the outside. A counter left hand to the body from Fossmo misses its target. Times is looking to clinch but Fossmo is avoiding it.

Times shoots in looking for a takedown. Fossmo tries to sprawl out of it but Times keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fossmo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Fossmo half committed to a counter leg kick. Helge Fossmo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justice Times .
That's one minute gone in the round. Times doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Fossmo to counter with a crisp jab. Times wants to clinch and Fossmo finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Times tries to clinch but Fossmo moves out of range. No luck for Times with that takedown attempt. Justice Times is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Times closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fossmo circles away. Fossmo looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fossmo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Times scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Fossmo manages to mount him!
Times is breathing heavily. Fossmo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fossmo lands a couple of good shots and Times has given up his back, trying to escape the position! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Times manages to reverse the position and now he's in Fossmo's guard. Nice work there by Times .

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Times 's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Times preventing the sweep. Fossmo keeping moving, preventing Times from controlling successfully. Times cracks Fossmo with a solid left hand. Times trying to control the position from guard on top but Fossmo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fossmo working for a triangle but Times defends it easily.

Helge Fossmo dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Times tries for a takedown but Fossmo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Fossmo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Times bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fossmo sneaks out the side door and pushes Times away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Times shoots in but no luck this time. Times tries to clinch up and Fossmo counters with a nice leg kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Times looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fossmo throws a quick counter kick to the body but Times avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Times misses with a takedown attempt and Fossmo counters with a lovely straight right hand! Helge Fossmo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justice Times . Times clinches up with Fossmo and pushes him back against the cage. Fossmo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Times is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Fossmo lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fossmo throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Times to regain full guard. Fossmo trying to control the position from guard on top but Times is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fossmo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Times throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Times takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Times working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fossmo is standing up over Times . Times looks to escape but Fossmo dives into side control.
Fossmo landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Times tries to strike but it doesn't land. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Fossmo in side control lands a decent elbow. Fossmo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fossmo has hold of Times 's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Times tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fossmo cranks the arm and Times screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Times , who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
