Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marlin Paschal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Filip Wieclaw! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wieclaw shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wieclaw looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Wieclaw circles away from the clinch attempt.
Paschal throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Filip Wieclaw has been cut. Wieclaw darts in trying to clinch and Paschal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Paschal. Paschal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wieclaw swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Wieclaw keeping moving, preventing Paschal from controlling successfully. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Paschal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wieclaw to the mat! Wieclaw manages to get full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Paschal working over Wieclaw with some ground and pound. Wieclaw looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Paschal lands a nice short elbow. Wieclaw is pressing down on Paschal's left leg trying to get back to full guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paschal gets caught flat footed, as Wieclaw shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Paschal holds on and takes a little breather. Paschal keeping moving, preventing Wieclaw from controlling successfully. Wieclaw stopping the sweep attempt from Paschal. Wieclaw wants to control from the top but Paschal keeps moving.

Paschal pulls Wieclaw in close to prevent any damage. Paschal has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Paschal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Paschal is trying to control the position but Wieclaw postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paschal shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wieclaw but Wieclaw pushes him off and we're back to square one. Paschal avoids a kick to the body.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Wieclaw throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Paschal counters with a takedown into side control. Paschal throws a strike aimed at the side of Wieclaw's head but Wieclaw avoids it well. Paschal grinds an elbow into Wieclaw's temple. Paschal wants to control but Wieclaw is keeping him busy. Paschal working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Wieclaw manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Wieclaw trying to control but Paschal is working from the bottom. Wieclaw won't allow Paschal to get back to his feet. Wieclaw would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Paschal gets a takedown into half guard. Paschal looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Marlin Paschal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wieclaw kicks off Paschal and gets to his feet. Paschal throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Filip Wieclaw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wieclaw tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Paschal counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Marlin Paschal showed his dominance in that final round. Well Paschal has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
