The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brady has a takedown stuffed.
Brooks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brady.
Horrible takedown attempt by Brady or perhaps it was just good defense by Brooks, which made it look bad.

Brady gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Brooks to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Brooks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Brady is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Brooks stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Brady has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Brooks manages to get his head free but now Brady has transitioned to an armbar! Brooks grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Brady! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Schlatter fails with the takedown

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fred Lowry.
