Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thor Fresh (ranked 2509 p4p, 283 weight class) and Conor MacGregar (ranked 7043 p4p, 581 weight class). MacGregar has chosen Hell is my middle name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fresh misses with a body kick.
Fresh lands a nice leg kick that just misses MacGregar's sensitive parts.
MacGregar on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fresh turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
MacGregar is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fresh.
Fresh jabbing away but nothing is landing.
MacGregar uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fresh.
MacGregar drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Fresh defends it well.
Fresh throws a combination but it was largely blocked by MacGregar.

MacGregar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fresh was covering up waiting for the punch and MacGregar finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fresh looking to hit a scissor sweep but MacGregar is one step ahead there.

MacGregar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fresh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and MacGregar defends well.

Fresh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. MacGregar defends it easily.
Fresh seems keen to control MacGregar's posture.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
MacGregar makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Oh Fresh is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
MacGregar loads up on a big left hand. Fresh felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - MacGregar looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Fresh can't hide his disappointment, as MacGregar celebrates the victory.

Watson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nuff stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nuff throws a hook to the side of Watson's head but Watson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Watson looks to score with a jab to the body but Nuff is just out of range.
Watson lunges at Nuff with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Nuff's hand.

Watson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nuff eats them both and turns towards Watson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nuff's coach down at Russian Bears Training Center (14 Elite, 1 Double was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Nuff's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
The crowd cheers as Watson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nuff doesn't seem phased though.
