The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shankara scores with a nice head shot.
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shankara.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones moves away from the strike by Shankara.
Jones stalks Shankara and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shankara's face. Shankara staggers backwards, shaken.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shankara sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shankara but Shankara pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shankara stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Swain scores with a jab to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Swain does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones tries to bum rush Swain with a series of wild strikes but Swain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Swain.

Swain decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Swain slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead.
