Rodrigues is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rodrigues is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Covington couldn't care less - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negreiros wants to clinch.
Billy Bongrips seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bongrips swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Bongrips drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bongrips is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Negreiros really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bongrips. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bongrips decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Negreiros, up you get!
Negreiros's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bongrips connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Negreiros scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Johnson Negreiros has been cut.

Negreiros trying to stall but Bongrips improves his position.
Negreiros looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Negreiros drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bongrips gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Negreiros creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Negreiros goes for a takedown attempt but Bongrips pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Bongrips closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Negreiros to the mat! Negreiros manages to get full guard.
Negreiros can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bongrips controls the pace.
Bongrips scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bongrips accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bongrips has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Negreiros is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Bongrips thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lock avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Lock shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lock showed some decent athleticism there.
Kush tries to kick Lock off in order to stand up. Lock Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Kush is looking for a sweep.
Lock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kush keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lock looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kush tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kush wants to get back to his feet but Lock is dominant here and he's now got Kush's back!

Lock has his arm under Kush's chin here. Game over son! Lock squeezes tightly and Kush is forced to tap out!
