The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Hoyle swats away the attempt to clinch by Rios.

Rios closes the distance and pushes Hoyle back into the cage.

Pavlov drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gracie gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Gracie is pressed up against the cage. Pavlov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gracie down to the mat. Gracie avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pavlov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ricardo Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matvey Pavlov.
Pavlov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away.

Pavlov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
