Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Collins Pac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Landon Cannon (ranked 24664 p4p, 581 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Landon Cannon was going to win. Let's see if he was right.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Collins Pac! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Landon Cannon! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Pac looks for a takedown but Cannon sprawls well. Cannon with the counter takedown but Pac avoids it easily. Cannon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cannon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pac misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pac gets in close and instigates a clinch. Pac wants to take the fight to the mat but Cannon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Collins Pac. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cannon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pac gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Pac slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pac has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Cannon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pac gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cannon looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Pac is defending well. Cannon quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Pac has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Cannon celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Caldeira tries to close the distance and clinch but Vandelay swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. As Caldeira tries to get set, Vandelay tries to push him back and clinch up but Caldeira manages to avoid the attempt. Caldeira shoots in but no luck this time. Vandelay circles away from the clinch attempt.
Caldeira stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Caldeira wants it to stay on the feet. Vandelay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Caldeira's waist but Caldeira gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vandelay off to one side. Vandelay shoots in for a double leg but Caldeira sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Art Vandelay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Caldeira drives through and clinches with Vandelay against the cage.
Vandelay wants the takedown. Caldeira is fighting it off but Vandelay persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Caldeira's guard against the cage. And that's the end of the fight! Caldeira wins on points by 15 to 10. After the fight, Arturo Caldeira was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |
