0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Black Belt Two! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dirk moves out of range of the leg kick from Belt Two. Dirk lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Dirk comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dirk lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Belt Two drives through and clinches with Dirk against the cage.
Dirk misses with a body punch.
Dirk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Belt Two has him pressed against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Dirk. Dirk doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Belt Two wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Dirk fails to land. Dirk working some nice short punches in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Belt Two tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dirk smiles and moves away.
Dirk connects with a looping right hand.
Dirk digs a good hook to Belt Two's body.
Belt Two looks winded! Dirk connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That has opened up Black Belt Two's cut even more.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belt Two needs to keep his hands up - Dirk had a free shot at his head there. Belt Two takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Dirk lands with a good body shot. Dirk definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. A cross from Dirk lands.
The cut above Black Belt Two's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Dirk bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Belt Two drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Belt Two is rocked!
Black Belt Two's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Belt Two tries to move into range but Dirk moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Belt Two is still on wobbly legs! Can Dirk finish him? Dirk is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Dirk swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Belt Two. Dirk connects with a looping right hand.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Black Belt Two's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escobar tests Saunier's chin there with a solid looking shot. Escobar gets caught flat footed, as Saunier shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Escobar definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Escobar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Saunier trying to control but Escobar is working from the bottom. Saunier might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Escobar haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Escobar can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Saunier controls the pace. Saunier slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saunier wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Escobar, who protects the arm well. Saunier is working to tighten his grip on Escobar's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Escobar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Saunier is really squeezing tight and eventually Escobar passes out! Saunier breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Engineering clobbers Guy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Engineering wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Guy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Engineering knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Guy on the ground. Guy slows the pace down. Guy scores with punches from side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Guy lands some shots froms side control. Guy lands a decent elbow from side control. Engineering being controlled for a moment. Guy fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Engineering is trying to buck Guy off. Guy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Guy controls the position. Engineering has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Guy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Engineering down.
Guy working the body and head with strikes. Guy moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Guy has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Sparring. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Guy working the ground and pound but Engineering is defending the strikes. Guy takes a little break here. Engineering wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Engineering is looking for a sweep. Guy working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Guy just content to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Engineering gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guy cracks Engineering with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Guy controlling the pace for now. Guy lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Guy lands a couple of good shots and Engineering has given up his back, trying to escape the position! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wrestle Guy dominated that round. That's time! Engineering's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Guy. Engineering stuffs the takedown. Engineering cracks Guy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Guy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Engineering looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wrestle Guy has got the better of the ground game so far. Guy taking a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Engineering tries to get out of the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Guy throwing shots but missing, from side control. Guy takes a little break here. Engineering wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Engineering gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Guy raining down hammerfists from mount. Guy scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Engineering?

Let's hope that Guy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Guy landing strikes, looking to finish! Guy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Guy with shots to the head and body - Engineering looks very uncomfortable down there. Guy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Guy landing strikes, looking to finish! Guy content just to control the position here.

Wrestle Guy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chastain lands the left hand. A lazy left from Chastain finds it's target. Silvain Chastain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chastain cracks O Connell with a good jab. Chastain scores with a jab to the head.
O Connell lands with a kick to the temple. Chastain shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" O Connell closes the distance and clinches up with Chastain, looking for a takedown. O Connell pushes Chastain against the cage but Chastain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chastain swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. O Connell finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chastain cracks O Connell with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Daniel O Connell has been cut. O Connell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Chastain has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Chastain moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. O Connell darts in looking for a takedown but Chastain gets double underhooks and turns O Connell into the cage. Chastain throws out a counter right but O Connell avoids it with no problem. O Connell walks into a straight right hand from Chastain. That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! O Connell wants to clinch up but Chastain keeps it at a distance. Chastain works the jab nicely. O Connell takes one to the side of the head.

Chastain throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck O Connell on the side of the head. O Connell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chastain tries to avoid it but O Connell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chastain to the ground. Chastain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Chastain looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. O Connell takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Chastain lands a jab. O Connell gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chastain scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Chastain smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Chastain swats away the attempt to clinch by O Connell. O Connell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chastain, pushing him back against the cage. O Connell seems to have got his legs back now. Chastain lands a shoulder strike. A body shot lands from Chastain.
Chastain works on O Connell's body with a couple of short punches. Chastain softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Chastain. O Connell fails to pull guard.

Chastain controlling from the top position. O Connell wants to stand up but Chastain is controlling him. Chastain wants to pass the guard but O Connell is keeping the position. Chastain decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Chastain keeps the fight on the outside. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Silvain Chastain dominated that round. The cut man is working on Daniel O Connell's cut. That's time! O Connell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

O Connell gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Chastain cracks O Connell with a right hand to the side of the head. Chastain has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Chastain connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Chastain with a body punch. A glancing blow. Chastain lands an overhand right. O Connell gets cracked there but stands up to it.
O Connell takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Chastain lands an uppercut out of nowhere! O Connell falls backwards - clearly groggy! Chastain dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gallo goes for a double leg but Zwirn avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Zwirn continues to drive forward. Gallo shoots in looking for a takedown. Zwirn tries to sprawl out of it but Gallo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zwirn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Zwirn swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Gallo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Zwirn lands a nice shot to the body.
Zwirn connects with a body shot. Zwirn has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Buoy Training in the buildup to the fight. Zwirn moves into range and connects with a jab. Zwirn lands the left hand. Zwirn scores with a hook to the body. Gallo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Zwirn digs a good body shot into Gallo's ribs. Gallo takes a body punch but keeps moving. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Zwirn bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Zwirn cracks Gallo with an open hand slap.

It looks like Dylan Gallo has been cut. Zwirn connects with a body shot that sends Gallo's belly button to the back. Gallo is still on wobbly legs! Can Zwirn finish him? Frederick Zwirn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gallo looks winded!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Large feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Spars jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Mr Large seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Large scores with a hook. Spar takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Spar closes the distance and clinches up with Large, looking for a takedown. Spar pushes Large against the cage but Large circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Spar takes one to the chin there. Large gets caught flat footed, as Spar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Large wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Spar manages to pass to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Large has a hand on Spar's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Spar takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

We've been hearing good reports from Spar's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills.
