2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Min Ion! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ion slips a jab and a cross from Takenao.
Takenao tries a head kick but it misses.
Ion avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Takenao misses with the combination.
Ion is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ion blocks a head kick by Takenao.
Ion tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Takenao shoots for a takedown but Ion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ion with the counter takedown but Takenao avoids it easily. Takenao has been working on his balance at London MMA Club, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Ion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takenao misses with a body shot
and Ion counters with a shoot takedown. Takenao fights it but they end up in guard. Ion working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Takenao's head. Ion is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ion's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Takenao had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ion defends it easily. Ion with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ion pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Takenao is keeping the position for now. Ion scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ion with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Takenao wants to sweep here but Ion controlling him for the moment. Takenao manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ion manages to get himself to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ion looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ion can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ion is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Takenao frees his head nicely. Oh but Ion has switched to an armbar! Takenao is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pawlik closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Banchamek's guard. Pawlik stays in close to Banchamek's body and controls the position. Pawlik thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Pawlik postures up.
Pawlik controls from within his opponent's guard. Banchamek can't keep his opponent in guard - Pawlik advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pawlik seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Banchamek is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shiek takes a swing at Scott's ribcage but misses. Shiek keeps the fight on the outside. Scott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shiek did well to prevent Scott getting side control. Shiek is controlling Scott's trapped leg to prevent Scott from advancing to side control. Shiek looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shiek actively working from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shiek is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily. Scott stands up from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shiek misses with an uppercut
and Scott counters with a crisp right hand that drops Shiek! Scott lets Shiek back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
It looks like Iron Shiek has been cut. Scott dives in for a single leg takedown but Shiek sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Shiek shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Scott but Scott pushes him off and we're back to square one. Shiek gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Scott gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
