43 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Cyril Makarenko! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Makarenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Anderson moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromMakarenko. Makarenko misses with a body kick. Some bone on bone action there as Makarenko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Good work by Anderson as he checks the leg kick. Makarenko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Anderson. Makarenko gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Anderson tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Makarenko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Makarenko tries to land a body kick and Anderson counters with a series of strikes. Makarenko will be more careful next time no doubt. Makarenko takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Cyril Makarenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Makarenko misses with a kick to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Anderson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A decent looking cross lands there for Anderson. Makarenko throws the left hand but Anderson avoids the punch easily. Makarenko avoids the head kick by Anderson.

Anderson walks into a straight right hand from Makarenko. Makarenko thows a leg kick but Anderson checks it and Anderson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Makarenko's knee momentarily. Makarenko chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Anderson can pounce on him.
Good leg kick by Makarenko there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

enabling Takemura to counter with a crisp jab. Saxton looks to land a left hand but Takemura moved out of range nicely. Takemura swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Saxton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Takemura counters with a one-two to the body. Saxton throws a leg kick that is checked and Takemura counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Gary Saxton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Saxton throws a left and a right that both miss
and Takemura counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Saxton rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Takemura connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Saxton misses with a double jab.
Saxton throws a hook to the side of Takemura's head but Takemura sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Saxton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
This has been an exciting period of action! No joy there for Takemura, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Saxton is looking for the big counter here. Saxton clobbers Takemura with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Saxton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Takemura counters with a stiff right hand. Takemura throws a left and a right that both miss
and Saxton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Saxton misses with a left hand and Takemura counters with a stiff right hand.
Saxton is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Saxton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Takemura counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Saxton thinking. Takemura wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Takemura lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Saxton is still on wobbly legs! Can Takemura finish him? Saxton closes the distance looking to clinch and Takemura counters with a perfect left hook, dropping Saxton to the canvas. He tries to get back up quickly but his equilibrium is all over the place! He's up... he's back down again! There's no need for a count as the referee calls off the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Ryu Takemura! Ryu Takemura made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I'd kill him if the referee let me..'.

It looked like Po wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Takeru Ishii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Po keeps the fight on the outside. Ishii moves out of range as Po strikes. Ishii turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Po takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Ishii lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ishii tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Po paws at him with a jab and circles away. Po throws out a powerful jab. Po drops his hands momentarily and Ishii takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Ishii is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ishii stuns Po with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Ishii throws an overhand right that lands on Po's shoulder, as Po tries to avoid the shot. Ishii feints and then cracks Po's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Po down. Po scores with a nice strike. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ishii scores with a jab.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cortez walks into a big right hand from Diaz and goes down! The referee sends Diaz to a neutral corner as Cortez gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way.
