The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Osterberg throws a hook but Wallace avoids it easily. Osterberg takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Owen Osterberg has been cut. Osterberg has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Osterberg scores with a decent looking hook. A looping hook to the body misses from Wallace. Osterberg does a little dance to reset his feet. Osterberg pushes Wallace up against the cage in a clinch. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swanson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kidd circles away quickly and effectively. Kidd waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Swanson. Swanson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Swanson misses with a hook. Kidd let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Some wild striking there from Swanson.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Kidd might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Swanson has got the better of the exchanges. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Eerikki Salmi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Salmi lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. James misses with a hook. Oh James is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Salmi misses with a straight left. Salmi drops James with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but James looks back up at him and smiles so Salmi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James misses with a body shot.

Paa is looking to regain half guard here but Khadan keeps moving and retains side control. Paa prevents Khadan from moving into mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khadan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Khadan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Paa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. You can see the frustration on Paa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Khadan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Khadan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paa keeps working.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Khadan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Paa has escaped the position, nice work there. Khadan working away. Khadan wants to control but Paa is keeping him busy. Paa prevents Khadan from improving position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khadan let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Khadan ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Paa takes a swing at Khadan's ribcage but misses. Khadan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Paa. Paa lands a nice looking kick to the body. Khadan takes a step back to recover. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Paa.

Iso Paa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Paa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Grayce working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
