Warring comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sleep Now in the Fire kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Ross Warring!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Warring circles away from the clinch attempt.
Warring swats away the attempt to clinch by Wellington.
Warring avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wellington wants to clinch up but Warring keeps it at a distance.
Wellington tries to clinch but Warring is having none of it.

Warring has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wellington jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Warring walks away with a smile on his face. Wellington gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wellington tries to keep at a distance but Warring has taken the fight into the clinch.
Wellington tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Warring is trying to trip Wellington. He has hold of a leg but Wellington is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Warring persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Wellington is looking for a triangle here but Warring uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warring controls the position.
Wellington tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Warring wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Warring wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wellington, who protects the arm well.
Wellington tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Warring tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Warring has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Warring thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Warring in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Wellington is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ross Warring decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

Lotus comes into the arena with Eye of the tiger blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Umberto Grena enters the cage!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Umberto Grena!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Lotus moves into the clinch.
Lotus prevents a takedown attempt there.
Grena is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lotus pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lotus can't get the takedown.
Grena is trying to drag Lotus to the mat but Lotus just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Tommy Lotus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Umberto Grena.
Grena is trying to pull guard but Lotus has him pressed against the cage.
Grena gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lotus.
Grena has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lotus after a bit of a struggle.
Lotus drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Grena gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Grena jumps into guard, dragging Lotus to the mat.

Grena is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lotus's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Lotus works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lotus seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grena really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lotus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lotus seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Grena for as long as he can get away with.
Grena tries to get to full guard but Lotus has control of the leg.
Lotus passes the guard and advances to mount!

Lotus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lotus moves to the back.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Lotus controlling the positon.
Lotus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Lotus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lotus continues to stall.

You can see the frustration on Grena's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Lotus is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Lotus continues to hold on tight.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Lotus is stinking the place up with his stalling.
