Liddell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kraus. Kraus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kraus throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ground and pound from Kraus seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The strikes coming from Kraus are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Louis has a takedown stuffed. Louis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Savage sprawls well. Savage wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Louis gets slowly back to his feet. Louis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Savage avoids it really well and circles away. Kris Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Louis. Horrible takedown by Louis or perhaps it was just good defense by Savage which made him look bad. Savage shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Savage was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Savage swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Louis is now in Savage's guard. A big mistake from Savage there, giving up the dominant position! Savage throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roy Nelson! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson throws a body punch but Diaz moves out of range. Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Nelson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Diaz scores with a takedown into Nelson's guard. Nelson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diaz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Diaz working some strikes from top position. Nelson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Diaz is one step ahead there. Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Nelson is retaining full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Nelson trying to strike off his back.
Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nelson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Nelson's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Nelson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nelson controls Diaz momentarily but Diaz frees himself. Nelson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diaz defends well. Nelson is looking for a triangle here but Diaz uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Diaz has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Diaz controlling from mount. Nelson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Diaz blocks Nelson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Diaz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nelson has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz looking to control but Nelson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Nelson is working to get back to half guard.
Nelson wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Nelson is trying to reverse the position but instead Diaz has taken his back - oops! Nelson rolls, trying to escape but Diaz keeps control of the position.
Nelson trying to control the hands but Diaz won't let him. Diaz looking for the choke from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson trying to control the action but Diaz just sinks the hooks in. Diaz is cranking Nelson's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Nelson! He's tightened the choke and Nelson is tapping out!
