The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Betts shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Betts takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Betts on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Betts throws a lazy right hand but Peric sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Peric blocks a head kick by Betts.
Betts's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Peric connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Betts scrambles back to his feet.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Peric - that will leave a mark!
Betts goes for a double leg but Peric avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peric continues to drive forward.
Peric lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Dontavis Betts has been cut.
Peric lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Peric stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Armstrong shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gonzalez's guard.

Gomes is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gomes extends the arm and Fuzz is forced to tap!
