21 - 31 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Stark! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaman misses with a body shot.
Stark misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stark staying out of range there. Stark looks for the body kick but Shaman saw that one coming. Stark throws a push kick but Shaman slaps the foot to one side. Stark lands with a straight right. Shaman didn't see that one coming. Shaman moves out of range of the body kick from Stark.
Shaman avoids a kick to the body.
Stark moves out of range of the leg kick from Shaman. Stark moves out of range of the strikes. Shaman misses with a series of wild punches.
Brandon Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stark pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shaman is out of range and Stark settles back down. Stark throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaman moves out of range of the body kick from Stark.

Stark lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Stark throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stark pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Stark keeps Shaman at a distance using the push kick. Shaman throws a looping overhand right but Stark ducks down to avoid it. Stark throws a nice outside leg kick. Stark throws a right and a left that both miss. Stark misses with a series of wild punches.

Shaman connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Stark throws a half hearted mid kick. Shaman bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A low kick from Stark misses and Shaman counters by moving into the clinch. Stark gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stark wants to pass the guard but Shaman is keeping the position. Shaman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stark is one step ahead there. Stark trying to control but Shaman is working from the bottom. Shaman is pulling down on Stark's head to control his posture. Shaman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Stark preventing the sweep. Shaman looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stark is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stark's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Shaman is pulling down on Stark's head. It's preventing any offense from Stark, at least for the moment. Stark trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Stark stopping the sweep attempt from Shaman. Stark working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stark is looking to work some ground and pound but Shaman has wrist control. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shaman is on top in guard.
Shaman is fighting to break Stark's control of his arms but Stark is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Stark is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Shaman won't allow Stark to sweep him here. Stark is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shaman defends well. Stark looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shaman is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaman dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Shaman waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Stark. Shaman gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Stark throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Shaman seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Stark misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And Shaman counters with a quick kick to the body but Stark blocks it. Stark pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Shaman cracks a nice hook into Stark's ribs. Shaman cracks the inside of Stark's front leg. Shaman misses with the combination.
Stark takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Stark takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shaman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Stark connects with a body shot. Stark throws a sloppy head kick and Shaman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Shaman.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaman lands a left hand that snaps the head of Stark backwards. Stark lands a takedown into guard.
Shaman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stark defends it easily. Shaman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shaman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Brandon Stark has got the better of the ground game so far. Shaman working a defensive guard here.
Shaman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stark gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Stark is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Shaman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Stark drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stark jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stark connects with a couple of short punches. Shaman pulls Stark in close to prevent any damage. Stark pushes down on Shaman's leg and manages to get into half guard. Stark is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Stark uses his free foot to push down on Shaman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shaman. Shaman tries to hold on but Stark postures up. Stark tries to control but Shaman wriggling away. Stark lands a heavy elbow. Stark has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Shaman's face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stark postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shaman looks a forlorn figure.

Shaman tries to hold on but Stark pushes him away. Stark wants to control the pace but Shaman is squirming around nicely. My spies in Touch Of Death Combat Academy inform me that Stark has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Stark with the ground and pound from mount. Shaman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Shaman cracks Stark on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Stark falls backwards against the cage. Shaman follows up with more strikes that drop Stark to his knees. Shaman keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Stark! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kallio ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A clash of legs there as Malverde blocks the low kick. Malverde throws a right and a left that both miss. Kallio throws the left hand but Malverde avoids the punch easily. Malverde steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kallio. Kallio shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. A big left from Kallio misses. Malverde blocks a jab. Kallio keeps the fight on the outside. Malverde has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kallio keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That was a close round but I would say that Kimmo Kallio will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Petersen stands and throws Scaletta's legs to the side, diving into side control. Scaletta tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Petersen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Petersen in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Scaletta is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Shifter is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kong is trying to escape and Shifter transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kong is forced to tap! Nice work there by Shifter! Very nice indeed!

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam McCullen (ranked 561 p4p, 82 weight class) and Harry Winston (ranked 1994 p4p, 235 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McCullen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Foggy Dew. Sam McCullen had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Harry Winston is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCullen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Winston misses with a looping left. Winston scores with a jab. Winston has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McCullen finds it's way round the side to connect with Winston's head. McCullen lands a body shot.

It seemed like Winston was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. McCullen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Winston looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Winston uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McCullen. McCullen lands a lovely overhand right. Winston scores with a jab. Winston gets caught flat footed, as McCullen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Winston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Winston has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Winston punching from mount but McCullen doing a good job of avoiding damage. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Winston looking to control but McCullen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. McCullen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Winston.

Winston looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCullen is one step ahead there.
