The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wad rushes Tonissaar and presses him up against the cage.

Wad tries to pull guard but Tonissaar holds him up against the cage and eventually Wad drops back down to his feet.

Wad changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tonissaar fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wad has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tonissaar creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Wad's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Wad drops to his knees and Tonissaar pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Tarlah is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Butcher pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Butcher has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Tarlah seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Butcher can turn it around.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Butcher screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Stickmann takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Stickmann stuffs the takedown attempt from William. William gets slowly back to his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stickmann has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Stickmann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stickmann wants it to stay on the feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from William.
William throws a head kick but Stickmann moves out of range.
William is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stickmann.
William has been working on his balance at whitey's gym , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Stickmann.

A decent looking cross lands there for Stickmann.

William lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Rod Stickmann has been cut.

Stickmann works William's body with a nice hook.
William walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Stickmann lands a jab to the nose.
William throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rod Stickmann is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stickmann cracks William with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
William tries to work over Stickmann's front leg with a kick but Stickmann checks it.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stickmann unloads with some shots from mount but William bucks and avoids them well.
William is breathing heavily.
William wants to hold on but Stickmann pushes him away.

Stickmann is landing with some decent strikes but William is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Stickmann throws an elbow that misses. William uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stickmann's guard. Nice move by William!

The fighters circle momentarily. Stickmann darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stickmann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

William is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Stickmann postures up and lands a big shot to William's brow.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stickmann accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stickmann has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
