3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohamed Brendan! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soso gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Brendan to score an easy takedown into full guard. Soso is wriggling around but Brendan manages to pass to half guard.
Brendan missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Brendan is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Soso still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Soso has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brendan can do anything to dispel that myth. You can see the frustration on Brendan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brendan parries the strikes from Soso easily there. Soso is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Brendan to escape.

Soso says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Brendan lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Brendan is taking a breather. Soso says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Soso tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Soso is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brendan defends well. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Brendan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brendan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Soso is proving hard to escape from. Brendan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Brendan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brendan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Brendan is working Soso over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Mohamed Brendan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brendan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prem lands a nice leg kick that just misses Alejandro 's sensitive parts. Alejandro stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alejandro wants it to stay on the feet. Alejandro dives in for a single leg takedown but Prem sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. Alejandro swats away the attempt to clinch by Prem. Alejandro moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Alejandro slaps away a takedown attempt from Prem, before circling back to the center of the mat. Prem drives through and clinches with Alejandro against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alejandro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Prem walks away with a smile on his face. Alejandro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's going to take a lot out of Dand Prem. Prem tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alejandro was well out of range. Poor timing from Prem. Prem throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alejandro 's waist but Alejandro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Prem off to one side.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harel shoots in looking for a takedown. Giovanni tries to sprawl out of it but Harel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Giovanni manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
