The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bot takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Motts scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bot doesn't seem bothered though.
Motts punishes Bot's body with a nice straight punch.
Motts scores with a sloppy right hand. Bot should have avoided that one.

Motts has taken the fight to the clinch.
Motts pushes Bot back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Motts is leaning against Bot and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Nice body punch from Motts.
Bot is breathing heavily.
Motts works on Bot's body with a couple of short punches.
Motts lands a shoulder strike.
Motts lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Bot is rocked!

Oh Bot is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Motts lands a nice uppercut.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Hines or perhaps it was just good defense by Dirk, which made it look bad.
Dirk scores with a hook to the body. Hines takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hines looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hines throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dirk tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hines is in Dirk's guard.
Hines lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hines postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Hines has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Hines trying to control the position from guard on top but Dirk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hines distracts Dirk with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dirk looking for a sweep. Not yet Dirk, not yet.
Hines wants to control from the top but Dirk keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hines's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dirk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dirk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hines is looking to improve his position.

Dirk seems to be looking for submissions.
Dirk wants to free his trapped foot but Hines is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dirk content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hines regains full guard. Nicely done.

Hines looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dirk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hines. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dirk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hines swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hines looking for a sweep. Not yet Hines, not yet.
Hines controls Dirk momentarily but Dirk frees himself.
Dirk looking to pass the guard.
Dirk keeps trying to improve his position.
Dirk passes Hines's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dirk wants to pass to mount but Hines is defending the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hines wants to improve his position but Dirk is controlling well.
Hines has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dirk is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hines sees it coming and defends easily.
Hines works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hines has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dirk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hines has his foot on Dirk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dirk works his way back into a safe position though.
Hines is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Dirk is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hines pulls his head out easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dirk tries to roll over but Hines keeps him under control.
Dirk taking some punishment here, with Hines in his half guard.
Dirk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hines is pressing down on Dirk's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dirk is holding on for now.
Hines is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hines winds up and cracks Dirk with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Dirk has hold of Hines's hands but Hines slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Hines dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Hines misses with a takedown
and Dirk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hines drops his hands momentarily and Dirk takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Tom Dirk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab lands there for Dirk.
Dirk fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hines looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Dirk scores with a nice head shot.

It looks like Mark Hines has been cut.
Hines has a takedown stuffed.
Dirk's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hines under the eye.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dirk.
Dirk comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dirk with a body punch. A glancing blow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dirk lands a jab to the nose.

Dirk scores with a jab to the body.
Hines misses with a left hand
and Dirk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hines on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Hines takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Dirk cracks Hines on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Hines falls backwards against the cage. Dirk follows up with more strikes that drop Hines to his knees. Dirk keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Hines! This one is all over!

Motts swings for the body but Black Belt moves out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Motts, as that shot connected.

It looks like Maybe Black Belt has been cut.
Black Belt misses with a left hand
and Motts counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Black Belt gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Motts gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Jiro comes into the arena with Game of Death blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Jiro swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Carrilo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jiro lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Jiro misses the body punch
and Carrilo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Ken Jiro has been cut.
Carrilo seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Jiro shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Carrilo is backing up but Jiro catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Carrilo covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Jiro Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
