1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willie Del Monte! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.

Del Monte gets caught flat footed, as Kovacs shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kovacs postures up in Del Monte's guard and throws a big left but Del Monte blocks it. Del Monte preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Del Monte is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kovacs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Del Monte is on top in guard.
Del Monte must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kovacs looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Kovacs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Del Monte sprawls well initially but Kovacs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kovacs is looking for a kimura but Del Monte is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kovacs to get the leverage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kovacs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Del Monte tries to buck Kovacs off but Kovacs is having none of it. Kovacs trying to control the position but Del Monte is working away. Del Monte is trying to improve his position. Kovacs is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Del Monte looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kovacs gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Shockhaven throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease. The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Shockhaven throws a combination. Johnson tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Johnson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Shockhaven counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Shockhaven. Johnson lands a hook to the side of the head.

and Shockhaven counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Johnson throws a punch but it's blocked by Shockhaven. Johnson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Shockhaven is working for takedown but Johnson is calmly controlling the position for now. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Shockhaven is controlling him.
Shockhaven's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson lunges at Shockhaven with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shockhaven's hand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson misses with a combination
and Shockhaven counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Shockhaven shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Shockhaven is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Johnson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shockhaven's guard. Shockhaven wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Shockhaven pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.

Johnson being controlled here momentarily. Shockhaven wants to sweep but no luck. Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Johnson throws and elbow that misses. Shockhaven uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Shockhaven! Shockhaven must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shockhaven is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Shockhaven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Let's hope that Shockhaven has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Shockhaven wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shockhaven controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Shockhaven counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Johnson thinking. Johnson throws a combination that misses
and Shockhaven counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnson won't be happy with that.

Kane scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Jerman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jerman somewhat. Kane lands with a hook. Jerman tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kane!

Julius Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Jerman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Kane pushes Jerman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jerman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Kane scores with a jab to the body. Left hook, right uppercut from Kane. Jerman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kane lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. No joy there for Kane, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Nelson. Nelson controlling the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nelson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ellsworth Jr tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Nelson easily slips into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson looks to land a right hand but Ellsworth Jr moved out of range.
