These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stipe throws a jab when Poulsen was well out of range. Stipe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Poulsen misses with a looping right. Poulsen backing away here, and Stipe unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Poulsen just misses with a punch to the body.
Poulsen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Stipe momentarily.
Stipe misses with a right hand and Poulsen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Stipe on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Stipe changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Poulsen is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A big right from Poulsen misses. Stipe misses with a body shot.
Stipe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A lazy left from Stipe finds it's target. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Poulsen misses with a shot to the body and Stipe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Poulsen scores with a hook to the body. Stipe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Stipe avoids the body shot from Poulsen.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stipe throws a jab when Poulsen was well out of range. Poulsen swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Poulsen takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Poulsen pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. No joy there for Poulsen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stipe takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Stipe avoids the body shot from Poulsen.

and Stipe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Stipe misses with a low kick.
Poulsen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Stipe catches Poulsen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Stipe fails with a takedown attempt. Vang Poulsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mini Stipe. Stipe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Poulsen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poulsen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stipe moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Poulsen throws a low kick but Stipe avoids it. A slow jab from Stipe misses its intended target. Stipe throws a leg kick which misses Poulsen's front leg but catches the back leg as Poulsen tries to avoid it. Poulsen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Stipe connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Poulsen scrambles back to his feet. Stipe cracks Poulsen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. A swing and a miss from Stipe. Poulsen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stipe circles away quickly and effectively. Stipe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Stipe does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Poulsen plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Stipe throws a series of punches but Poulsen avoids them all with ease. Stipe decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Poulsen trying to control from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stipe stalling away here and it's allowed Poulsen to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Stipe working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Poulsen is looking for a triangle but Stipe pushes his legs off easily.
Stipe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Poulsen is trying to keep Stipe in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stipe with a flurry of punches that miss. Stipe is fighting to break Poulsen's control of his arms but Poulsen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Poulsen seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Poulsen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Stipe wants to control from the top but Poulsen keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Poulsen trying to keep a closed guard but Stipe is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stipe postures up in Poulsen's guard and throws a big left but Poulsen blocks it. Poulsen has control of Stipe's left arm, preventing Stipe from doing any damage. Stipe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Poulsen is keeping the position for now. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Poulsen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Stipe misses with a straight left. Stipe misses with a jab, cross combination.

Stipe fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Poulsen is out of range. Poulsen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stipe moves out of range as Poulsen strikes. Poulsen throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Stipe shoots in but Poulsen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Stipe fails with the takedown and Poulsen counters with a flying knee. Nice. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stipe moves out of range of the strikes. Poulsen connects with a jab. Stipe uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Poulsen has time to react. Stipe tries to work over Poulsen's front leg with a kick but Poulsen checks it. Poulsen just misses with a punch to the body.

Stipe throws a hook to the side of Poulsen's head but Poulsen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Stipe tries to bum rush Poulsen with a series of wild strikes but Poulsen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stipe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It connects and Poulsen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A jab from Poulsen finds it's way through Stipe's defenses. Kwon throws out a loose jab but Wylde uses good head movement to avoid it. Kwon drops Wylde with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Wylde looks back up at him and smiles so Kwon waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Wylde is rocked! Wylde tries to get into range but Kwon steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Wylde! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Kwon scores the big KO victory!

It looked like Kurosaki wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Kurosaki moves out of range of the body kick from Kane.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Kurosaki. Kane on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Kurosaki pushes Kane away with a front kick. Kurosaki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kane. That did some damage! Kane tries to clinch but Kurosaki is having none of it. Akio Kurosaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kurosaki jabs Kane right on the nose. Kane blinks but takes it well. Kane with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kurosaki to score with a decent uppercut. Kurosaki misses with an uppercut. Kurosaki looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Partio is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Partio looks to land a left hand but Garibaldi moved out of range nicely. Partio's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

A cross from Partio lands. Partio throws a shot from downtown. Garibaldi moves away and avoids it. Partio throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Partio will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Partio works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Partio throws a half hearted mid kick. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Garibaldi checks a leg kick. Partio sizes up Garibaldi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piano stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kerr scores with a nice strike. Piano is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kerr. Piano misses with a straight right. Kerr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Kerr throws a looping overhand right but Piano ducks down to avoid it. It looked like Piano was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Piano misses with a right hand and Kerr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Piano throws a push kick but Kerr slaps the foot to one side. Kerr throws a counter combo. Piano throws out a leg kick but Kerr moves out of range and Piano only half commits. And Kerr tries to counter it with a takedown but Piano pushes his down on his head and steps out. Kerr trying to control the position from guard on top but Piano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kerr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Piano knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kerr on the ground. Kerr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Piano swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Piano gets off balance looking for a body kick and Kerr counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kerr. Kerr digs a right hand underneath Piano 's ribcage. Kerr pulls guard effortlessly. Kerr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kerr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Nice strikes from Kerr there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kerr frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kerr punching from mount but Piano doing a good job of avoiding damage. Kerr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Piano is looking to escape. Kerr controlling from mount. Piano is in a horrible position here. Kerr smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
