The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spasov feints a jab promting Rua to slip. Spasov then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rua slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Rua connects with a crisp jab. Spasov misses with a series of wild punches.

Both fighters circling a little - Bouya finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Takada throws a sloppy head kick and Bouya moves out of range easily. Bouya looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Bouya looks for the body kick but Takada saw that one coming. Bouya smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. The fighters circling - Takada throws out the jab but it was never going to land. That looked like it hurt. Ford throws a right and a left that both miss. Ford ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ford tries to clinch up but Liaw circles away and keeps his distance. Liaw throws a looping overhand right but Ford ducks down to avoid it. Liaw defending well as Ford loads up on a big left hand. Ford misses with a looping right. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ford moves away. Cortez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Oloishona needs to keep his hands up - Cortez had a free shot at his head there. A cross from Cortez lands. Oloishona chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cortez can pounce on him.
Oloishona looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Oloishona moves into range and clinches up with Cortez.
