The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kivipaa walks into a straight right hand from Shadie.
Shadie takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Shadie blocks a jab.
Shadie jabs Kivipaa right on the nose. Kivipaa blinks but takes it well.
Shadie scores with the left hand. Kivipaa knows he should have avoided that one.
Shadie has a takedown stuffed.
Shadie misses with a two punch combination.
Kivipaa slaps away a takedown attempt from Shadie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Shadie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kimmo Kivipaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slim Shadie.

Kivipaa rushes Shadie and presses him up against the cage.

Shadie uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kivipaa has time to react.

Shadie tests Kivipaa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kivipaa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shadie.
Shadie lands with a straight right. Kivipaa didn't see that one coming.
Shadie is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kivipaa had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Shadie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kivipaa did well to prevent Shadie getting side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shadie is trying to control the action in half guard but Kivipaa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Shadie with the ground and pound but Kivipaa uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Shadie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shadie connects with a couple of short punches.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kivipaa has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shadie off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Shadie lands a jab to Kivipaa's midsection.
Shadie jabs at Kivipaa's body.
Kivipaa lands a head shot.
Kivipaa dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Shadie misses with a looping right.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kivipaa tries to clinch there but Shadie circles away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Slim Shadie will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shadie lands with a cross.
Shadie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kivipaa swivels and escapes.
Shadie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kivipaa as he avoids it easily.
Kimmo Kivipaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slim Shadie.

Kivipaa throws a looping overhand right but Shadie ducks down to avoid it.
Kivipaa throws a right and a left that Shadie avoids nicely.
Kivipaa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Shadie shoots in and drives through. Kivipaa sprawls well.
Shadie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kivipaa lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Shadie backs up against the cage.

Shadie is rocked!
Shadie is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Kivipaa doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Shadie crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Shadie's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kimmo Kivipaa!
