The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ishmael misses the shot to the body. It seemed like Steel was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Ishmael waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Steel. Ishmael looks to throw the jab but Steel is out of range. It seemed like Steel was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Steel tries to move into range but Ishmael moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Ishmael moves out of range of the strikes. Ishmael keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ishmael throws a shot to the body.
Ishmael stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. It looks like Daniel Steel has been cut. Ishmael swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Steel doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Ishmael missing with a left hand there. Steel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ishmael lands a big uppercut and Steel crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Steel looks OK. Ishmael waves Steel back to his feet! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Steel has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ishmael lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Steel falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ishmael dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Camara tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fighter just stands there and leans against the cage. Fighter softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Lock misses with a takedown and Pereira Carvalho counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Tre pushes Krylov off looking to stand but Krylov dives back in and keeps control.

Krylov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Krylov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tre looks like he's trying to stand up.
Krylov wants to free his trapped foot but Tre is holding on for dear life with his legs. Krylov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. and Burns counters with a nice uppercut. Burns throws a body punch but Torres moves out of range. A slow jab from Burns misses its intended target. Torres rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Burns holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Burns's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! It looks like Gavin Burns has been cut. Burns blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Torres lands with a right to the head. Burns swings wildly with an uppercut but Torres uses good head movement to avoid it. A head punch on the inside from Burns fails to land. A momentary lapse in concentration from Agripa enables Olsen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Agripa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Mongrel! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mongrel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A right-left combo lands from Mongrel. It looks like Warrant Officer has been cut. A jab from Officer does it's job there. It looks like John Mongrel has been cut. Nice jab there from Officer. Mongrel misses with a straight left. Mongrel lands a body shot.
Officer misses with a hook. Officer throws a looping overhand right but Mongrel ducks down to avoid it. Warrant Officer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Officer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Mongrel counters with a crisp one two that drops Officer! Mongrel thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Officer to his feet! Officer is in big trouble! Officer is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Mongrel has cracked Officer with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Mongrel lands another huge swinging hook and Officer tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Officer, before Mongrel can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). John Mongrel! John Mongrel is the new middleweight champion! John Mongrel bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
