Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Torn Ement! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Suirya Nagato! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ement shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nagato manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nagato working a defensive guard here.

Nagato wants to sweep but no luck. Nagato keeping moving, preventing Ement from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ement looking to sit in guard and control but Nagato gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ement is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nagato lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nagato has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ement is proving hard to escape from. Nagato's corner is telling him to maintain position. Ement is pulling down on Nagato's head. It's preventing any offense from Nagato, at least for the moment. Ement wants to sweep here but Nagato controlling him for the moment. Nagato postures up in Ement's guard and throws a big left but Ement blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ement shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nagato's guard. Ement wants to pass the guard but Nagato is keeping the position. Nagato is looking for a triangle but Ement pushes his legs off easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ement slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ement knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nagato on the ground. Nagato is looking for a sweep. Ement is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nagato can do anything to dispel that myth. Nagato wants to get back to his feet. Ement scores with a couple of good hammerfists. It looks like Ement is going to stand back up.
Ement stands up from half guard. Ement feints and as Nagato raises his hands in defense, Ement changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ement pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nagato is keeping the position for now. Nagato changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ement tries to avoid it but Nagato manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ement to the ground. Ement escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nagato shoots in looking for a takedown but Ement manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nagato's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Torn Ement is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nagato throws a head kick that misses. Nagato drives through with a takedown into Ement's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Ement is looking to stand back up but Nagato counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ement. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ement is not content to let Nagato control the position. Ement tries to get to full guard but Nagato has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nagato is keen to just control but Ement is a slippery customer. Ement wants to get back to full guard. Ement controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Ement tries to get to full guard but Nagato has control of the leg. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Nagato trying to control the action but Ement is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Nagato crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ement - the referee stops the clock and Nagato gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ement. Nagato manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Nagato is breathing heavily. Ement pushes Nagato up against the cage in a clinch. Ement has Nagato pressed against the cage, preventing Nagato from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ement gets control of Nagato's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ement will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Ement has control of Nagato's left arm, preventing Nagato from doing any damage. Nagato postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ement pulls Nagato in close to his closed guard and prevents Nagato from doing any damage or advancing position. Ement working for a triangle but Nagato defends it easily.

Torn Ement overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nagato working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nagato thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nagato prevents Ement from escaping the position. Nagato tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nagato has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ement is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ement is looking to get back to his feet here but Nagato is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ement's back. Ement tries to roll but Nagato sticks to his back.

Ement is trapped and Nagato is scoring with shots to the head and body. Ement trying to control the action but Nagato just sinks the hooks in. Ement is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Nagato gets his way!

You can see the frustration on Ement's face as Nagato controls the position. Nagato wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ement keeps working. Nagato gets to mount! Ement was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ement tries to improve his position but instead Nagato has taken his back! Ement trying to control but not successfully.

Tree tries to sprawl but Johnson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tree kicks Johnson off and gets back to his feet. Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Tree sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tree gets tackled into the cage by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch. Johnson has a couple of punches blocked by Tree.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A hook to the body from Tree.
Johnson looks winded! A nice right hand lands inside from Tree. Tree keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Johnson's efforts to push away. Tree lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Tree lands with a short head shot on the inside. Tree using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
