Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shontavius Smiff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Human Person! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Smiff. Smiff bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Person looks to score with a jab to the body but Smiff is just out of range. Person throws out a loose jab but Smiff uses good head movement to avoid it. Human Person seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Person misses with a hook. Smiff fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Person sprawls well initially but Smiff persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Smiff lands strikes from half guard. Person wants to get back to full guard. Smiff is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Person has hold of Smiff's hands but Smiff slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Smiff working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Smiff stops Person from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smiff working the head and body with strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smiff content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Smiff working some ground and pound from close in. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Person can do anything to dispel that myth. Smiff winds up and cracks Person with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Smiff is nestled in close to Person, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Smiff scoring with strikes to the body and head. Smiff seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Person does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Person really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smiff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smiff uses his free foot to push down on Person's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Person. Smiff landing strikes from the mount. Person is desperately trying to improve his position but Smiff has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smiff working Person over with strikes here. Smiff lands a heavy elbow. Smiff lands a big elbow. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee warns Person that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Person takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Smiff breaks from Person's wrist control and lands an elbow. Smiff lands a couple of good shots and Person has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Person grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Smiff lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Smiff lands strikes to the head. Smiff lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Person prevents Smiff from getting a body triangle. Smiff scores with strikes from the back.

Smiff has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Person. Smiff is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Smiff gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Smiff gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Smiff apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Person throws out a loose jab but Smiff uses good head movement to avoid it. The fighters circling - Person throws out the jab but it was never going to land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shontavius Smiff dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Smiff fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Smiff ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Person paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. It looks like Shontavius Smiff has been cut. Nice sprawl there from Person as Smiff shoots in. Person throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Person scores with a crisp jab that stopped Smiff in his tracks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed right hand from Person misses the target. Person connects with the punch. Person just misses with a punch to the body.
Smiff changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Smiff has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shontavius Smiff. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Person pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Smiff slips a straight right by Person. Person takes a swing at Smiff's ribcage but misses. Smiff fails with a takedown attempt. Person sends Smiff crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Person is motioning to the referee to let Smiff up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Smiff is rocked! Person lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Smiff up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Person from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Smiff's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Human Person! A very excited looking Human Person rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Kaloev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kaloev manages to kick Pierre off! Pierre jumps back into Kaloev's guard. Kaloev wants to sweep but no luck. Pierre controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kaloev is on top in guard.

Kaloev could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pierre looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kaloev lying in Pierre's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Pierre decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Kaloev taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
