The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hornby tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hornby tries to clinch but Chimaev moves out of range.
Hornby throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chimaev's waist but Chimaev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hornby off to one side.
A little feinted left hand from Chimaev on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hornby connects with a jab.
Hornby misses with a two punch combination.
Chimaev throws a right and a left that Hornby avoids nicely.

Chimaev closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hornby to the mat! Hornby manages to get full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hornby manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chimaev drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hornby pulls his leg out and moves away.
