The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Complex.
Complex avoids the head kick by Smith.
Complex chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Complex fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Smith checks it well.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Complex with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Smith to score with a decent uppercut.
Complex has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Complex lands with a good body shot.

The fighters circle momentarily. Complex darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Smith gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Complex uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.

and Complex counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Complex counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Complex lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand.
Rodney Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith misses with a hook. Complex ducked under it nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Complex, as that shot connected.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Complex lands with a thumping leg kick.
Smith gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Complex gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Smith is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Sturridge shoots for a double leg takedown but Proudhon sprawls well. He's pushed Sturridge's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Oooooh!!! Proudhon has knocked Sturridge down with a huge combo! Proudhon steps away and waves a wobbly Sturridge back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
