Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Delgado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Palakiko! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delgado motions for Palakiko to come forward. Delgado throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Palakiko misses with an uppercut. Palakiko lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Palakiko throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Delgado holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Delgado slowing the pace effectively. Delgado ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Delgado no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Palakiko has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Delgado to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Palakiko is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Delgado pulls down on the head and he's put Palakiko to sleep! This one is all over!

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Snake Avildsen (ranked 4217 p4p, 4222 weight class) and Sato Toguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sato Toguchi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Toguchi missing with a left hand there. Avildsen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Avildsen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Toguchi was well out of range. Poor timing from Avildsen. Avildsen stuffs the takedown. Toguchi swinging wildly here.
Avildsen appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Toguchi throws a hook but Avildsen avoids it easily. Toguchi swings and misses with a shot to the body and Avildsen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Avildsen. Toguchi trying to control the position.
Avildsen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Toguchi tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Toguchi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Avildsen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Toguchi is trying to maintain the position but Avildsen is very close to passing his half guard. Toguchi wants to get back to full guard. Toguchi is staying active underneath Avildsen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Avildsen prevents Toguchi from improving his position. Ground and pound from Avildsen. Avildsen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Avildsen is looking to take a break and control but Toguchi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Toguchi has hold of Avildsen's hands but Avildsen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Avildsen landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Avildsen is trying to control the action in half guard but Toguchi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Avildsen drops an elbow to the side of Toguchi's head. Toguchi trying to control here.

Avildsen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Toguchi wants to sweep but Avildsen has passed to side control! Avildsen lands some shots froms side control. Toguchi is looking for a sweep. Avildsen is putting a hurting on Toguchi here, landing some big shots from side control. You can see the frustration on Toguchi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Toguchi is looking to reverse the position. Toguchi defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Avildsen landing strikes from the mount and Toguchi is in trouble! Toguchi is still in real trouble! Can Avildsen finish him? Toguchi is squirming around, avoiding Avildsen's attempts to control the action. Avildsen landing strikes from the mount. Avildsen wants to control the pace but Toguchi is squirming around nicely. Avildsen cracks Toguchi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Toguchi seems to have recovered his senses. Avildsen throws a lazy right hand but Toguchi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Toguchi misses the shot to the body. Toguchi missing with a left hand there. Avildsen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Avildsen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Toguchi as he jumps to the side. And Toguchi tries to counter it with a takedown but Avildsen pushes his down on his head and steps out. Toguchi stuffs the takedown attempt from Avildsen. Avildsen gets slowly back to his feet. Toguchi is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Avildsen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Toguchi. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Avildsen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Toguchi defends it nicely. Toguchi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Toguchi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Avildsen manages to avoid it. Avildsen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Toguchi swivels and escapes. Toguchi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nice takedown defense from Toguchi. No joy for Avildsen on that attempt. Toguchi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Avildsen. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Avildsen slips a jab from Toguchi. Toguchi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Toguchi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Avildsen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Toguchi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Sato Toguchi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Snake Avildsen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Snake Avildsen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Toguchi sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Toguchi gets full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Toguchi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Avildsen stacks Toguchi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Avildsen! Avildsen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Toguchi keeps working. Avildsen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Toguchi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Toguchi tries to improve position but can't. Toguchi seems a little lost for a moment, as Avildsen dominates the positioning. Toguchi prevents Avildsen from improving position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Toguchi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Avildsen's best efforts. Toguchi is looking for a sweep. Avildsen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Toguchi throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Avildsen is trying to control. Toguchi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Avildsen stalling. Toguchi looking for submissions off his back. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Toguchi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Snake Avildsen. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Avildsen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
