The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monster gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Burns lands a shoulder strike. Burns holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
Burns is trying to maintain a safe position but Monster gets an underhook and turns Burns into the ropes. Monster is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Burns trying to land knees to the body.
Monster fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Monster drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Monster has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Burns uses from the top position. That's three minutes gone in the round. Monster working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Burns's head. Monster with a flurry of punches that miss. Monster working some strikes from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Monster is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Burns is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Burns has escaped and now he's on top! Burns wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Monster's closed guard. He's half up but Monster has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Monster pivots and extends the arm, Burns falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Monster! Well done that man!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! parlov lands with a slapping head kick. Mackenzie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from parlov. Mackenzie shoots in but parlov avoids the takedown attempt easily. parlov throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
parlov checks a leg kick. Mackenzie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. parlov defends it nicely. Mackenzie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Mackenzie throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and parlov works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Mackenzie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Mackenzie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. parlov defending well though.

Mackenzie goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now parlov is on top in guard.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mackenzie scores with a couple of short elbows. Mackenzie stands up. mate parlov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mackenzie scores a takedown into full mount! Mackenzie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and parlov is now in Mackenzie's guard. A big mistake from Mackenzie there, giving up the dominant position!

Mackenzie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Quick Ness! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Snake! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ness shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Snake as he jumps to the side. Snake stuffs the takedown attempt from Ness. Ness gets slowly back to his feet. Snake throws a jab but it's blocked by Ness. Horrible takedown by Ness or perhaps it was just good defense by Snake which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quick Ness. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ness has managed to clinch.
Ness drops down looking for an ankle pick but Snake pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ness misses with a takedown attempt - Snake sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Ness looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Snake scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Snake changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ness looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ness is breathing heavily. Ness is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ness really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Snake landing a few strikes. Snake is trying to get an arm triangle but Ness is defending well. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ness is looking to reverse the position. Ness taking a bit of punishment here - Snake scoring with strikes. Snake trying to control the action but Ness is working from the bottom. Ness regains half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Snake connects with a nice short shot to Ness's temple. Snake looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Snake winds up and cracks Ness with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Ness is looking to control Snake's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ness avoid being mounted? Snake throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Snake throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Snake throwing shots but Ness is blocking nicely.

Ness postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Snake is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ness, into his guard. Snake trying to control the position from guard on top but Ness is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ness had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Snake defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ness keeping moving, preventing Snake from controlling successfully. Ness is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Snake is aware though and is defending well. Snake is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ness looking to control.

Snake stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Ness throws up his legs and catches Snake in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Snake tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Ness! That came out of nowhere!
