With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Choice Gracie! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Gracie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Smith definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Smith sitting in guard here, content to control. And he's not even managing to do that successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Gracie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Smith takes one to the chin there. Smith walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Gracie lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Gracie wants to control but Smith postures up. We've been informed that Gracie has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Gracie is looking to reverse the position. Gracie looks winded! Smith looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Gracie seems a little lost for a moment, as Smith dominates the positioning.

You can see the frustration on Gracie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The referee asks Smith politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Smith prefers to stall for the moment though.

Gracie manages to work his way to half guard, despite Smith's best efforts. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Smith is trying to work for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.

Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gracie lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Smith backs up against the cage.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Marsh! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marsh fails to land the takedown. A left lands for The Dragon. Marsh stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from The Dragon. King The Dragon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marsh shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches The Dragon napping and manages to drive through into side control! The Dragon is looking to get back to his feet here but Marsh is keeping cool and he's managed to take The Dragon's back. The Dragon turns into Marsh and is now in his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marsh has a closed guard, preventing The Dragon from standing up. Marsh is adopting a defensive guard. The Dragon won't allow Marsh to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marsh is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The Dragon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marsh works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Marsh has his hands on The Dragon's head, controlling the position. Let's hope that Marsh has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The Dragon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Marsh looking for a guillotine here but The Dragon defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The Dragon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The Dragon wanted to stand there but Marsh had control of the position. Marsh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Marsh trying to pass the guard but The Dragon defending well. Marsh drops an elbow to the side of The Dragon's head. The Dragon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Marsh working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Marsh working the head and body with strikes. Marsh looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Marsh frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Marsh scoring with strikes but The Dragon is staying in there. Marsh tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Marsh lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. King The Dragon's cut is getting worse. The Dragon is trying to get back to his feet but can't. The Dragon is desperately trying to improve his position but Marsh has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marsh controlling his opponent. The Dragon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dahigh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Koloff tries to avoid it but Dahigh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Koloff to the ground. Koloff escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Koloff looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Koloff circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dahigh scores with a jab. Koloff ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Dahigh is looking to clinch but Koloff is avoiding it.
Dahigh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Koloff tries to avoid it but Dahigh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Koloff to the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koloff misses with a few strikes there.
Koloff leaves Dahigh with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Melo Dahigh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Koloff avoids the head kick by Dahigh.

Dahigh fails with the takedown letting Koloff counter with a right hand. Dahigh shoots in and drives through. Koloff sprawls well. Koloff misses with a straight right. Dahigh has his takedown stuffed and Dahigh takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A big left from Dahigh misses. Dahigh works Koloff's body with a nice hook. Dahigh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Koloff. Dahigh shoots in but Koloff avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dahigh is breathing heavily.

Dahigh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Koloff throws the left hand but Dahigh avoids the punch easily. Dahigh throws a counter high kick but Koloff was just alert enough to avoid it. Dahigh fails with a takedown attempt. Koloff looks to land a right hand but Dahigh moved out of range. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Koloff has eaten all the pies! Dahigh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Koloff avoids it really well and circles away.

Dahigh looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Dahigh blocks a jab. Dahigh shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dahigh is countered with a crisp right hand from Koloff that sends him to the canvas! Koloff follows him to the mat into side control. Dahigh is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Sloppy strikes there by Koloff. Koloff is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Dahigh will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Koloff postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dahigh is not content to let Koloff control the position. Dahigh is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Koloff's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Koloff stalling. Dahigh gets back to full guard.

With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dustin Hernandez! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice straight punches there by Hernandez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hernandez. Hernandez gets a clinch. Hernandez misses with a hook from the clinch. Hernandez can't break the clinch.
Hernandez goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lima changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hernandez fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lima takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hernandez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lima circles away quickly and effectively. Hernandez moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Hernandez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Lima appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Dustin Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hernandez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lima half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Hernandez throws a body punch but Lima moves out of range. Lima shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hernandez but Hernandez pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Lima. Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lima passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hernandez isn't going anywhere. Lima wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hernandez, who protects the arm well. Hernandez trying to control but Lima flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Lima is cranking Hernandez's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hernandez! He's tightened the choke and Hernandez is tapping out!

Trouble for Holland! Thwack is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Holland is surviving well by controlling Thwack's body position as best he can. Holland knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thwack on the ground. Thwack working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Holland looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Thwack!
