With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Perrin Abarra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Ma! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ma feints a jab promting Abarra to slip. Ma then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Abarra slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Ma wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. A jab from Abarra finds it's way through Ma's defenses. Ma misses with an attempted mid kick.

Ma goes for a double leg but Abarra avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Abarra continues to drive forward. Abarra appears to be looking for a big counter. Abarra throws a nice looking combination but Ma bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Abarra misses the shot to the body. Ma looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Abarra is fending him off so far but Ma persists. Nope, Abarra circles away and we're back to standing. Abarra lands the left hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! Ma is rocked! Abarra looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Abarra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ma. Ma looks winded! Abarra lands with a hook. Ma tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Abarra throws a right hand that Ma ducks under and follows up with a left that Ma also avoids with ease. Ma seems to have recovered his senses. Ma fails in his attempt to clinch. Abarra throwing a counter right hand but Ma manages to avoid it. Abarra lunges at Ma with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ma's hand. Abarra connects with a body shot that sends Ma's belly button to the back. Abarra fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ma changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Abarra stuffs the takedown. Abarra looks to land a combination. Ma sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Abarra digs a good body shot into Ma's ribs. Ma takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Abarra lands a left and a right that send Ma crashing to the mat, dazed. Abarra thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Perrin Abarra dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ma walks straight into a right hand from Abarra - that's dropped him! Abarra jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Ma from any more punishment! Ma complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glue slips under a jab from Roberts. Roberts lands with a nice combination. Glue backs away looking to recover. Roberts is doing well to control the position and prevent Glue from advancing to side control. Glue thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Roberts tries to hold on but Glue pushes him away. Glue is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Glue extends the arm and Roberts is forced to tap!

Ball works over Mhiaolov's head and body with a nice combination. Mhiaolov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. He must have been on the weights. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ball makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A frustrated look appears on Ball's face as he tries to break the clinch. Our sources have told us that Ball has been working on his elbows in the gym. Mhiaolov stalling the fight.

A low kick from Mhiaolov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ball has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ball and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Ball lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Ball is working the combinations to good effect here. Ball ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ball, as that shot connected.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ball clinches up with Mhiaolov and pushes him back against the cage. Ball misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ball has had enough of the clinch but Mhiaolov keeps him there for the moment. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Ball.

Mhiaolov trying to control the position but Ball is working away. Ball is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mhiaolov asserts his dominance and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mhiaolov cracks Ball with an elbow. That is naaassty. Ball is trying to get back to his feet. Mhiaolov landing a few strikes. Mhiaolov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ball down.
Ball is rocked! A big shot lands for Mhiaolov! That's hurt Ball! Will he recover? Mhiaolov fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

A nice side step and Svyatogor releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Svyatogor's jab looks to have found its range, popping De Vries under the eye. A looping hook to the body misses from Svyatogor. De Vries does a little dance to reset his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

De Vries takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. De Vries jabbing away but nothing is landing. It seemed like Svyatogor was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. De Vries misses with a low kick. Svyatogor lands with a nice body punch. Svyatogor changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. De Vries throws a jab when Svyatogor was well out of range. Svyatogor wants to counter the offense by De Vries and move into the clinch position. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether De Vries might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. De Vries misses with a left hand and Svyatogor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A big right from Svyatogor misses. De Vries scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. De Vries has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
