The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve tries for a takedown but Kropotkin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Steve tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kropotkin defends well and Steve ends up having to push Kropotkin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Steve counters with a nice body shot.

and Steve counters with a left and a right that stings Kropotkin.
Steve avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steve wants to counter with a clinch but Kropotkin pushes him away.

Kropotkin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

I would just about give that final round to Scooter Steve.

Fisher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tada pinned against the cage. Tada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tada throws a leg kick that is checked
and Fisher counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Fisher shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tada manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Tada is looking for a triangle but Fisher pushes his legs off easily.

Fisher has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tada has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fisher is proving hard to escape from.

Ferris throws a hook but Luciano blocks it.
Ferris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Luciano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ferris feints the counter takedown.
Ferris scores with a hook.
Ferris misses with a straight left.
Luciano swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
The fighters circle momentarily. Luciano darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Ferris moves out of range of the leg kick from Luciano.

Luciano makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Luciano seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Oh but Luciano is tightening it up a little... Ferris has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ferris reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ferris taps out! Nice BJJ there by Luciano!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mattia Muzio (ranked 6210 p4p, 3727 weight class) and Marcus Shakes (ranked 582 p4p, 410 weight class). Muzio's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pray for Me. Shakes has chosen About the Money- T.I. as his entrance music. Mattia Muzio had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds.
