The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vercetti throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Knight stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Knight throws a left and a right that both miss
and Vercetti counters with a stiff right hand.
Knight misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Knight looks to clinch
and Vercetti counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Knight closes the distance and clinches.

Vercetti manages to break the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Knight avoiding damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vercetti pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vercetti defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Knight.
Vercetti throws the left hand but Knight avoids the punch easily.

Vercetti missing with a left hand there. Knight was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Vercetti counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Knight tries to clinch up but Vercetti circles away and keeps his distance.

Knight pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Vercetti back to the cage. Knight follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Knight shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vercetti pinned against the cage. Vercetti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Knight tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vercetti sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Knight somewhat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Vercetti enables Knight to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vercetti manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Knight working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Knight throws an elbow that misses. Vercetti uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Knight's guard. Nice move by Vercetti!

Vercetti wants to get up but he can't break Knight's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Knight wants to stand but Vercetti is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vercetti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Knight swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vercetti thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Vercetti is standing up over Knight. Knight looks to escape but Vercetti dives into side control.
Knight is trying to get back to half guard.
Knight is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vercetti asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Knight is trying to control Vercetti's posture but Vercetti avoids it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Knight shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vercetti sprawls well. Vercetti wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Knight gets slowly back to his feet.
We've been informed that Vercetti has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Knight throws a right hand that Vercetti ducks under and follows up with a left that Vercetti also avoids with ease.
Knight shoots in looking for a takedown but Vercetti manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Knight's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Knight drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Knight turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Knight tries to bum rush Vercetti with a series of wild strikes but Vercetti uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Randy Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knight goes for a double leg but Vercetti avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vercetti continues to drive forward.
Knight has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Vercetti after a bit of a struggle.

Knight has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vercetti is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Knight lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Vercetti has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Vercetti and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Vercetti! But no joy.

Knight shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vercetti as he jumps to the side.

Tommy Vercetti is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Knight is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Vercetti off and has taken his back!

Koppia dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Canoe stiff and motionless on the mat!

Till tries to clinch there but Serrano circles away.
Till takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Serrano connects with a body shot.
Till doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Serrano works the jab nicely.
and Serrano counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Till! He's just covering up as Serrano starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
