Gardener misses with a takedown attempt - Daskalakis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shalashaska tries to clinch but Diaz moves away
and Diaz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shalashaska tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance.
Shalashaska is looking to clinch but Diaz is avoiding it.
Diaz connects with a single shot there.
Diaz scores with a three punch combo!

Shalashaska moves into the clinch.
Shalashaska wants to take the fight to the mat but Diaz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Diaz tries to pull guard but Shalashaska holds him up against the cage and eventually Diaz drops back down to his feet.

Shalashaska tightens his grip and picks Diaz up, before dumping him to the ground. Diaz manages to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shalashaska thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Shalashaska advances position into side control!

Shalashaska has hold of Diaz's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Diaz tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Shalashaska cranks the arm and Diaz screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Diaz, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Adam Shalashaska decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
