With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Nigel! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tazmachev tries to bum rush Nigel with a series of wild strikes but Nigel uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tazmachev throws a right hand that Nigel ducks under and follows up with a left that Nigel also avoids with ease. Kamar Tazmachev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nigel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tazmachev but Tazmachev pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tazmachev scores with a hook to the body. Nigel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Nigel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nigel has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Tazmachev is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nigel yanks on the arm and Tazmachev is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nigel.

Cockerspaniel staying out of range there. Cockerspaniel moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Cockerspaniel throws a jab but it's blocked by Hoejlund. Calvin Cockerspaniel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoejlund jabs at Cockerspaniel's body. Cockerspaniel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hoejlund has time to react. Hoejlund is rocked! Cockerspaniel fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Hoejlund out cold! Brutal finish!

Hendricks misses with a hook. Teb tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Hendricks closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Teb quickly recovers to half guard. Teb trying to control here.
Hendricks seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Hendricks is keen to just control but Teb is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hendricks is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Teb to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Our spies down at at The Factory inform us that Teb has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Hendricks throws a big elbow that misses. Teb throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ankalaev looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Vernetti comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Vernetti displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ankalaev. Amadeo Vernetti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khadis Ankalaev. Vernetti scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ankalaev doesn't seem bothered though. A big right from Vernetti misses. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vernetti, as that shot connected.

Ankalaev is fighting to break Vernetti's control of his arms but Vernetti is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

And that's the end of the fight! Amadeo Vernetti showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vernetti, winning every round. Will the judges agree? A right-left combo lands from Faacker. Faacker's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Faacker blocks a head kick by Hadjilis.
Faacker moves out of range as Hadjilis strikes. Hadjilis defending well as Faacker loads up on a big left hand. Faacker looks to land a combination. Hadjilis sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Hadjilis lands with a straight right. Faacker didn't see that one coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hadjilis connects with an inside leg kick. Hadjilis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Faacker is still on wobbly legs! Can Hadjilis finish him? Faacker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Faacker seems to have recovered his senses. Faacker wants to break the clinch but can't.

Faacker gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Hadjilis throws a head kick that misses and Faacker counters with a lovely shot to the body. A nice inside leg kick there by Hadjilis. That's going to slow Faacker down. Faacker throws a hook but Hadjilis avoids it easily. Hadjilis swings for the body but Faacker moves out of range.
Faacker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Faacker showed some decent athleticism there. This has been an exciting period of action! Hadjilis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Faacker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hadjilis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Faacker is keen to just control but Hadjilis is a slippery customer. Hadjilis tries to get to full guard but Faacker has control of the leg. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Markos Hadjilis will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Hadjilis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. A nice combination there by Faacker.

Hadjilis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Faacker walks away with a smile on his face. Hadjilis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hadjilis throws out a loose jab but Faacker uses good head movement to avoid it. Faacker looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Hadjilis looks to land a right hand but Faacker moved out of range. Faacker jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hadjilis connects with a leg kick. Hadjilis dodges the punch combination from Faacker.
Hadjilis quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. A telegraphed right hand from Hadjilis misses the target. Hadjilis takes a swing at Faacker's ribcage but misses. Faacker misses with a head kick.

Faacker is looking to defend but Hadjilis has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Faacker! Hadjilis pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Faacker taps out and this one is all over!

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Venom Killer Jr (ranked 2045 p4p, 2937 weight class) and Fekkus Lasombra (ranked 315 p4p, 434 weight class). Killer Jr kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Roy Jones - Can't be touched. Fekkus Lasombra will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lasombra misses with an uppercut. Killer Jr blocks a jab. Killer Jr wants to clinch and Lasombra counters with a left to the body. Killer Jr tries to clinch but Lasombra is having none of it. Lasombra darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Killer Jr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lasombra paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lasombra misses with a two punch combination.
