Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Black (ranked 6050 p4p, 5053 weight class) and Jai White (ranked 706 p4p, 631 weight class). Jai White is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Black! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jai White! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.

It looks like Joe Black has been cut. A telegraphed takedown attempt from White is defended easily by Black.
Black rushes White and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
White pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. White misses with a takedown attempt - Black sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. White shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Black pinned against the cage. Black gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Joe Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jai White. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like Jai White has been cut.

Black forces White back against the cage and clinches. White wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Black works on White's body with a couple of short punches. White wants to break free but Black has control.
Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
White moves into the clinch successfully.
Black effectively controlling the action here. White pushes off an throws an elbow but Black leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Black dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. White takes a shot to the head.

Black can't get the takedown.
Black turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Black manages to end up in side control. We've been hearing good reports from Black's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Black is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, White has escaped the position, nice work there. Black wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working. White is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Black working away.
Black is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. White knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. You can see the frustration on White's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Black decides to stand up, so the ref orders White to his feet. Black shoots in for a takedown but White shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Black clinches with his opponent.
White throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Black blocks it with crossed arms.
Black breaks from the clinch.
Black drives through with a takedown into guard.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Black stands up from White's guard - Black perhaps looking for a knockout. Black throws a sloppy head kick and White makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Black dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Black lands a body shot.
A leg kick checked by White. White tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Black wants to clinch up but White keeps it at a distance.
White closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Black wants a takedown.
Black pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. White keeps the fight on the outside. White moves in looking to clinch but Black pushes him off.
Black moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White fails to pull guard.
Black is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that White can do to turn this around? Black tries to score a body lock takedown but White shows good agility there to stay on his feet. White on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
White wants to stall.
White wants to take the fight to the mat but Black manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Black gets control of White's arms and successfully pulls guard. Black will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. White stopping the sweep attempt from Black. White being controlled here momentarily. White prevents Black from getting back to his feet. Black is pulling down on White's head. It's preventing any offense from White, at least for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Black has a closed guard, preventing White from standing up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Black wants to stand up but White is controlling him.

White tries to keep at a distance but Black has taken the fight into the clinch. Black lands a shot to the body.

Black pulls guard effortlessly. Joe Black overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Black tries to strike from the bottom.
Black has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but White can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. White trying to control the position from guard on top but Black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. White might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Black haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Black controls White momentarily but White frees himself. Black managing to control the position.

White manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A punch combination from Black misses. White tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. White is looking to clinch. Black tries to counter with a takedown but White is quick to defend against it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Black dominated that second round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Black counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Black is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but White is defending well. Black is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Black has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. White avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Black. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Black is trying to pull guard but White turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. White fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Black changes levels and goes for a takedown here. White fights it off and pushes away nicely.
White shoots in looking for a takedown. Black tries to sprawl out of it but White keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Black manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
White gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. White manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

White has Black pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Black manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Black looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Well Black has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... The fighters are working up against the cage. Frank manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Frank tightens his grip and picks Gamble up, before dumping him to the ground. Gamble manages to land in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Frank looking to pass the guard. Frank won't allow Gamble to sweep him here.
Gamble isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Frank stacks Gamble on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Frank! Frank trying to control the action but Gamble is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gamble moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Frank trying to control the position from guard on top but Gamble is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gamble kicks Frank off and gets to his feet.
Gamble takes the fight into the clinch. Frank effectively controlling the action here.

Frank jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gamble walks away with a smile on his face. Frank gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Frank shoots for a double leg takedown but Gamble sprawls well. He's pushed Frank's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Trevor Gamble has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Frank.
Gamble clinches up with Frank and pushes him back against the cage. Gamble is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Frank gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Gamble gets underhooks to prevent Frank's takedown attempt.
Frank tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gamble smiles and moves away.
Frank closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Frank looking to stall.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gamble connects with a solid leg kick. Gamble tries to close the distance and clinch up but Frank swats him away and circles back towards the center. Frank fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gamble seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Trevor Gamble will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Gamble tries to score a power double leg takedown but Frank sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gamble somewhat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Frank. Frank fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Gamble throws a sloppy head kick and Frank moves out of range easily. Gamble closes the distance and clinches up with Frank, looking for a takedown. Gamble pushes Frank against the cage but Frank circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gamble fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Frank, pushing him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frank tries to pull guard but Gamble won't allow it.

Gamble misses with a head shot. Gamble controlling from the full mount. Frank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gamble. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Frank for as long as he can get away with. Frank is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Gamble controlling from mount. Gamble looking to ground and pound but Frank is blocking nicely. Gamble can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Frank is looking to escape. Gamble takes Frank's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Frank has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gamble is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frank swats away the attempt to clinch by Gamble. Frank shoots in but no luck this time. Trevor Gamble has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Frank. Gamble stuffs the takedown attempt from Frank. Frank gets slowly back to his feet. Gamble seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Gamble passes into half guard. Gamble is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Frank can do to turn this around? Frank avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gamble. Frank wants to improve his position but Gamble is controlling well.

Gamble shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Frank napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Frank is trying to improve his position.
Gamble has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Frank throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Gamble fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Frank to the ground. Gamble is now in Frank's guard. Gamble won't allow Frank to get back to his feet. Gamble controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gamble looking to pass the guard.

Gomer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Love's guard. Gomer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've been hearing good reports from Love's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Love pulls Gomer in close to prevent any damage. Gomer sitting in guard here, content to control.
Love escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gomer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gomer pushes down on Love's leg and manages to get into half guard. Gomer wants to pass the guard but Love is defending well.

My spies in Ginásio Guerreiro inform me that Gomer has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Gomer controlling his opponent. Love tries to hold on but Gomer pushes him away. Gomer with the ground and pound from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gomer trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gomer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Love haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Love wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gomer.

Love feints and then cracks Gomer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gomer down. Love shoots in for a takedown but Gomer shows good takedown defense. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gomer is defended easily by Love.
Gomer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Love napping and manages to drive through into side control! Love tries to escape but Gomer is in control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Love is not content to let Gomer control the position. Love is looking for a sweep.

Gomer manages to get back to half guard. Gomer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Love connects with a nice short shot to Gomer's temple.

Gomer is trying to get back to full guard. Love is trying to control the action in half guard but Gomer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bugs Tallis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Stevens tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Robinson defends well and Stevens ends up having to push Robinson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Despite the aggression on Robinson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derrick Stevens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Robinson tries to score a body lock takedown but Stevens shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Stevens effectively controlling the action here. Stevens putting his Muay Thai to good use. Killjoy jabs David to the body, keeping him at a distance. Nice sprawl there from David as Killjoy shoots in. Killjoy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? David is fending him off so far but Killjoy persists. Nope, David circles away and we're back to standing. Roger David has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Killjoy. Killjoy fails with the takedown and Killjoy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Max Killjoy has been cut.
David moves into range and clinches up with Killjoy. David jumps guard but Killjoy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Killjoy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Killjoy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. David lands a couple of digs.

Gregory escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gregory changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Braddock looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gregory is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Braddock has escaped the position, nice work there. Gregory works to advance to full mount. Braddock defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Gregory avoids the attempt from Braddock to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Reece Gregory had his way with Victor Braddock in that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Gregory tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gregory displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Braddock. Braddock tries for a takedown but Gregory sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Braddock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gregory but Gregory pushes him off and we're back to square one. As Braddock looks to move away, Gregory throws a big counter combo but Braddock just gets out of the way. Reece Gregory has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Braddock. Braddock takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gregory shoots in looking for a takedown. Braddock tries to sprawl out of it but Gregory keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Braddock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Braddock scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gregory in his tracks.

Gregory gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Gregory advances position into side control! Gregory trying to control the action but Braddock is working from the bottom. Gregory creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Braddock sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Gregory tries to advance to mount but Braddock denies him. Braddock is not content to let Gregory control the position. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Braddock manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Braddock works his way to full guard. Good work. Gregory trying to control the position from guard on top but Braddock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reece Gregory overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gregory seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gregory postures up and lands a big shot to Braddock's brow.

Gregory is working Braddock over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Gregory works over Braddock with some ground and pound from guard. Gregory slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Gregory sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Victor Braddock seems to be getting the better of the standup. Braddock throws a sloppy head kick and Gregory moves out of range easily.

Gregory keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Braddock's efforts to push away. Gregory manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Reece Gregory showed his dominance in that final round. I think Gregory has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
