Jones Hatham had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Nwaoge - just one landing.
A leg kick checked by Vurris.
Vurris throws a leg kick but Nwaoge sees it coming and moves out of range.
Vurris misses with a body kick.
Vurris throws a lazy uppercut
and Nwaoge counters with a nice right hand that sends Vurris toppling to the canvas! Vurris scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Nwaoge finish him?!
 It looks like Vern Vurris has been cut.
Vurris shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vurris in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Nwaoge tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Vurris!
