The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
cav will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
cav swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Chinch closes the distance and clinches.
cav tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
cav is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Chinch is stalling here.
A short uppercut from Chinch.
Chinch wants to break the clinch but can't.
Chinch's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Chinch jumps guard and drags cav to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Chinch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chinch manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Chinch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
cav is trying to stand up here but Chinch is controlling him well.

cav lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Chinch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
cav swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chinch looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
cav tries to close the distance and clinch but Chinch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chinch could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
cav on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
cav misses with a double jab.
Horrible takedown by Chinch or perhaps it was just good defense by cav which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Chinch. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It's a brutal combination of punches from cav! Chinch is backing up but he can't get away as cav lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Chinch and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Cavanate Rocha changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Akiyama tries to avoid it but Cavanate Rocha manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Akiyama to the ground. Akiyama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Akiyama cracks Cavanate Rocha with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Cavanate Rocha tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Akiyama pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Cavanate Rocha is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Truck fails with the takedown.
Herbert Truck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Truck looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thompson is one step ahead there.
Truck wants to stand and escape but Thompson is having none of it.

Truck working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thompson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thompson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Truck tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Thompson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thompson lands an elbow just above Truck 's eye.

Thompson lands an elbow that stopped Truck in his tracks for a moment.
Thompson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Truck tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Truck is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Thompson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

and Thompson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Truck has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Thompson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Truck has tightened it up now! Thompson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
