Ruas is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mc Marcinho - Rap do Solitário. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francisco De Brito! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Flavio Ruas! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Brito cracks Ruas with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Ruas throws a front kick aimed at De Brito's knee but De Brito avoids it well. De Brito checks the leg kick. De Brito appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Ruas throws a lazy right hand but De Brito sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. De Brito tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. De Brito takes a swing at Ruas's ribcage but misses. Ruas on the wrong end of a nice jab. De Brito throws a looping overhand right but Ruas ducks down to avoid it. De Brito looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Francisco De Brito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Brito tries a head kick but it misses.
