These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimmy Newtron! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Newtron's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Newtron duly obliges. Rodriguez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Newtron. A right-left combo lands from Newtron. Newtron swinging wildly here.
Rodriguez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Newtron moves out of range as Rodriguez strikes. As Rodriguez backs off Newtron throws a huge counter combo but Rodriguez manages to avoid it all. Newtron lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rodriguez backs up against the cage.
Newtron looks to land a combination but Rodriguez avoids it well. Newtron throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodriguez. Rodriguez throwing a counter right hand but Newtron manages to avoid it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnston lands with an uppercut that bounces Balboa off the cage and back into range. We've been told by Johnston's head coaches at JAG Battle Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Uestus Johnston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnston sizes up Balboa with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. No joy there for Johnston, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice leg kick lands there from Turner. Turner connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Turner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lee gets caught napping as Turner dives in and scores a takedown. Lee manages to retain guard. Turner stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Turner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Turner throws a big right hand that misses. Lee pulls Turner in close to prevent any damage. Turner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lee wants to sweep but no luck. Lee pulls Turner in to control the position. Turner postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turner throws an elbow that misses. Lee uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Turner's guard. Nice move by Lee! Lee prevents Turner from getting back to his feet.

Lee acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Turner misses with a low kick. Lee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Turner to the mat! Turner manages to get full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Turner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turner wants it to stay on the feet. A solid leg kick lands there for Turner.
Turner scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lee doesn't seem bothered though. Lee misses with a takedown and Turner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Turner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lee eats them both and turns towards Turner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Lee is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Turner. That kick from Turner tenderised Lee's leg. Lee is trying to keep his angry face on. Turner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Turner throws a left that rocks Lee and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Turner dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Lee regain composure!

Mouskal shoots in looking for a takedown but Bresnar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mouskal's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mouskal shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bresnar sprawls well. Bresnar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mouskal gets slowly back to his feet. Bresnar half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Alak Mouskal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mouskal tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bresnar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mouskal's guard. Muwaitang has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Scott is on him like a limpet, forcing Muwaitang back against the cage.

Scott has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Eliz Gracie was interviewed post fight and said 'I mean good job to Hinski, theres nothing I can change about how I performed tonight, I know we had beef but shit happens, maybe we can run it back in the future, enjoy that belt but I aint done with you.
