Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Mercury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rozafa Arben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mercury comes into the arena with Shawn Michaels -Sexy Boy blaring out of the sound system. Arben has chosen P.O.D. - The Messenjah as his entrance music. Rozafa Arben will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rozafa Arben! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.

Arben leaves Mercury with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mercury shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Arben napping and manages to drive through into side control! Arben is trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eddie Mercury dominated that round. The cut man is working on Rozafa Arben's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Mercury loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mercury wants to pass the guard but Arben is keeping the position.

Mercury throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Arben works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Arben avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mercury postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Rozafa Arben seems to be getting the better of the standup. Arben cracks Mercury with an open hand slap. Arben lands with a nice body punch. Mercury throws a chopping leg kick but Arben manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Mercury misses with a takedown attempt - Arben sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mercury has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Arben misses with a wild combination.
Rozafa Arben is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mercury shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Arben tries to roll over but Mercury keeps him under control. Arben blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mercury. Mercury is taking a breather. Arben says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Mercury moves into full mount! Arben won't be happy about that!

Let's hope he's not broken it! Arben avoids a strike by Mercury and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Mercury's guard! Fantastic escape!
Arben would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mercury wants to get back to his feet but Arben is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Arben trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mercury's guard. Arben slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Mercury feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Arben keeping moving, preventing Mercury from controlling successfully. Serra rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Snapple moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Serra lands with a straight right. Snapple didn't see that one coming. Manningham Snapple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Serra thows a body shot but no joy. Serra fails to land the takedown. Snapple avoids the body shot from Serra.
A head kick misses from Snapple. Serra digs a good hook to Snapple's body.
Snapple misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Serra throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Snapple. Snapple needs to keep his hands up - Serra had a free shot at his head there. Serra throws a body punch but Snapple moves out of range. A combination from Serra does no damage. Serra throws a good cross that connects.
Snapple is looking to land body kicks. Serra ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Serra throws a right and a left that Snapple avoids nicely. Snapple misses the shot to the body. Snapple with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Serra to score with a decent uppercut.

Serra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Snapple works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Serra with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Serra controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Serra wants to control from the top but Snapple keeps moving. Serra wants to pass the guard but Snapple is keeping the position.

Serra looks up at the clock and then as Snapple takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Serra smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
